Logos Will Not Start, like deja-vu all over again

I had this problem same earlier today and deleted the Updates.db file as advised. Logos started fine.

Then I went on to try to deal with my bigger problem of my system crashes (Logos tech thought it is a OS problem, not caused by Logos)

I ran disk utility first aid, which found several disk permission problems and repaired them.

Now Logos will not open again.

I tried removing the Updates.db file, but that did not help. I reinstalled the Logos5 engine, Logos still will not open. The "signing in" notification appears for a few seconds, then startup fails.

It wasn't that file this time… it is the history.db file:

Invalid database: /Users/PastorsBrain/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/uqlh0z84.iuh/HistoryManager/history.db

YIKES… I am so glad i have not had issues like this… although last time i had something similar to this was a bad beta and after that I left the beta stream.

I ran disk utility first aid, which found several disk permission problems and repaired them.

I would run that again and make sure you don't have any bad sectors (this will take a long time, but it will be worth it).

I had the same problem...it would just say "preparing" forever. I went to the support page & did as instructed 3 times with NO success. I even left my PC "preparing" all night..... Still no success.

This morning I re-booted my PC, Logos started indexing & now all is well.......Hope it helps...God Bless

It doesn't sound like you were experiencing the same issue as the original post, but thanks for the encouragement anyways. In the future, feel free to create a new thread when you have issues like last night. Also, please remember that just because you have the same symptom as another user, does not mean you have the same problem. Most importantly: don't start deleting things unless directed to personally!
