repeatable crash on daily readings page

I'm running 2.3.12 on nexus 7 with android 4.2.2
A few days ago Bible started crashing when I open the daily readings tab.
I have tried restarting. I have tried uninstalling and deleting folder com.logos.androidlogos and then reinstalling and redownloading resources. The app force -close with Message unfortunately bible has stopped.
Has anyone else has this issue recently?
Can anyone help me fix it?

It also happens on my HTC One S. It crashes on airplane mode or when online.
I use a mix of reading plans lectionaries and devotionals.
I also have faithlife installed and the daily readings tab works fine there
