Classic Studies on the Apostolic Fathers (29 vols.) $25 seems possible with an effort.
Also The Complete Works of Thomas Manton (22 vols.), but I believe I've seen another thread about that one.
I'm in for both. The challenge is to get more people interested enough to place their bids.
I'm in for both as well!
Does anyone know if Classic Studies of the Apostolic Fathers includes translations of the works of the fathers that they are commenting on? I imagine several in this set must, but wasn't absolutely sure.
Me three - I'm in on both too. Would be nice to save $10 across both sets if they can creep down in price a little.
It looks like this set includes translations of some of them - I know of Ignatius and Polycarp (and there is a tagged PB version available at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/66338.aspx)

Bump.
I have been in for Manton from the beginning. I'm also in for the other one. [C]
Bump (hoping that some of you may respond) [I]
I am in.
I'm in. With just a few more bidders we can get this down to $25.
The Manton collection is edging closer to $35...
Time is running out to bid.
To me it doesn't look like the Apostolic Fathers will make it to $25 but Manton is close to making it to $35 if people jump on board.

Lightfoot's 5 vol in this set not only has Greek & English for 1&2 Clement, Ignatius' letters, Polycarp, Martyrdom of Polycarp; it also has original text and translation of several related materials. Lightfoot was exhaustive in his research, and these vols show it. For example; in the 4th century (I think?), there was this work related to Polycarp called "Life of Polycarp" claimed to be written by one gent named Pionius. Well, it's related to Polycarp. It's 20-some chapters, as I recall. Lightfoot has the Greek as well as a translation. The only place you'll ever find it. There are scads of other things like this frittered about through his 5 vol magnum opus.
Honestly, I paid well over $100 for used copies of these 5 vols (which take up probably close to a foot of shelf space), ordered from the UK, probably 10 years ago. I love them and use them, but once this CP thing becomes reality, I will probably never crack them open again. They are a steal at $50. I'm flabbergasted that $30 is the price, that $25 is possible — and that 24 other books come along for the ride.

Folks, Rick is right. It is a steal. Get in before it's too late!
Every blessing

We still have a week
How did that happen? It's supposed to close tomorrow!
Thanks for chiming in, Rick.
The only place you'll ever find it.
You're saying it's not even in the Patrologia?
Here is what I am seeing:
Is tomorrow the 14th? Or are we looking at different books?
I saw the same, but it's not what used to be there, nor what's in the e-mail:
So they have given us an extra week to raise awareness!

I have no idea. But Lightfoot is much more accessible than PG. Lightfoot also translates it into English.
Possible. Or something went wrong, and they may correct it any minute.

Of course. You just made such a categorical statement that I assumed you had checked. You may well be right anyway, though. I can't find it on the Wikipedia list.

I'm either going crazy or they must have changed the date. Either way I'm happy.

Truer words never spoken. Get on board!
Looks like a few more bids will drop it to $25.00

Notice it is closing tomorrow. It now states the 7th.
Not surprised. That's what I expected would happen.
To me it doesn't look like the Apostolic Fathers will make it to $25 We still have a week, dear friend.
It seems this was an error on the website that has meanwhile been corrected by Logos.
Thus: whoever wants http://www.logos.com/product/27506/classic-studies-on-the-apostolic-fathers for the CP price of $30 (or - unlikely - even less) needs to bid today, i.e. within the next ten hours

As much as I want that to happen I don't think it will.
I do have a bit of an issue with Logos changing it to a week later and then changing it back, even if it was a mistake. I think Logos should honor what they advertise, even if it was an error. Certainly they have done this in the past with pricing errors.
I'm in. Sure would be nice to get it at $25.00.
Am thinking about bidding but isn't a lot of Lightfoot's material in Schaff's nicene and anti-nicene fathers?
While the Apostolic Fathers are in the the ECF collection, the MASSIVE commentary on them and extensive research into the early church is not. If you have an interest in the early church at all, please bid - you will probably be kicking yourself for not doing so later when you find that these volumes would be useful.
Regarding Lightfoot's material:
1: His Greek text in these volumes has a full critical apparatus. You won't find this in his one-vol, or in Schaff.
2: His Greek text has notes as well. Notes on vocabulary, cross references to Biblical and other writings of the Fathers, discussions of contextually appropriate cultural material, and the like. Really useful stuff.
3: There is also a lot of prose. He has essays delving into details relevant to the discussion of Clement, Ignatius and Polycarp, their writings, their historical period/time frame, and the like.
4: He has sections where he lists parallels, quotations, and allusions to 1&2 Clement; Ignatius' letters, and Polycarp's material. These are original language (some with translation) including Greek, Syriac, Coptic, and even Armenian in places.
5: There is so much in Lightfoot's 5 volumes. As I said elsewhere, the print of these five volumes take up nearly a foot on my shelf at home. It is much more than simply text and translation; it is erudite scholarship about the authors and material, as well as virtually all relevant material (in original language and, in many cases, translation) one might think of needing to study the author at hand.
Hope it helps.
