How do I create a passage list from an open resource? I would like to have a passage list of all the bible references from a book I have just read.

Scott, you can only create a Passage List in a few ways. The only one that would seem to work in the situation you are thinking of is to highlight text and then add to a Passage List from "Selected Text". I can't see this as a workable solution to listing all the passages in an entire book.

Thanks Mark. I did read about that process in a training manual which would not be practical as you have stated. I thought that the Logos had a way to extract all the verses from a book like it can from a web page. If that is currently not a simple process maybe I need to email Logos with a suggestion [;)]

Actually, it is practical for many books. For other, divide into 100 pages blocks then merge the resulting files. The density of references and patience of the user seem to be the limiting factors. But it is a do once process that can happen in the background while you read.

Yes, I would primarily would like to create a passage list from books that are not heavily "versified". Books that are about a particular topic. For example, I finished reading the book "The Way of the Master". I want to create a passage list from this book and then edit the list to verses that I desire to memorize. I thought that I read somewhere that the Logos software could do this but apparently not. This feature would be like creating an index of all the verses in the book. Some books provide a verse index but it would be nice if Logos could provide one if the book did not come with one. I understand the power that Logos has to find every resource that mentions a particular verse but I desire to have a passage list of all the verses in a particular resource. I would think that this is a feature that could be added in the future.

It can. Select the text of the book or some portion of it, create a passage list from the selected list and wait. I've done it for several resources.

That might be handy. As I pointed out, and MJ says she's accomplished, you can do this using the Selection option in Passage Lists.

I just checked the Logos UserVoice web page to see if something like you are suggesting (Add from a Book) has been proposed. I couldn't find anything. Based on what I see on UserVoice, there isn't much concern about this tool. You could add this as a suggestion there.

Thank you MJ and Mark. I will try selecting the whole book and see how that works. I will also try posting a suggestion. Thanks again for your helpful responses.

I would use a feature like this.

This thread was from 2013 - meanwhile we do have a feature like this: the Concordance in Logos Now should give what was discussed back then.
