I have no way to delete unwanted Clippings, Notes, Etc.
Welcome to the forums, David! [:)]
Does "right click" not work? I'm not near my computer to double check. If not, let me know and I will double check when I get home.
On another note... Is there a reason you haven't updated to the free L5 engine?
let me know and I will double check when I get home.
In L5, if you hover over the top right hand side, an "x" appears to delete the note or clipping.
If you are interested in learning more about updating to L5, let me know. The engine is free, all of your resources will work with it. In most ways, it is just a continuation of the L4 builds. Since L4 is no longer being developed, it is recommended that you migrate to L5 unless your system isn't up to spec.
I do not know anything about L5 engine. I click on File and it opens the window where I am given the option to create a new document or open an existing one. When I hover over the already created note or clipping there is no blue x to click to delete and if I right click on the mouse it just opens the already created note or clipping, etc.
Hi David
if I right click on the mouse it just opens the already created note or clipping, etc.
That's strange - right-clicking on the note should open a pop-up menu
Have a look at the article at http://wiki.logos.com/Notes_$28ver_4.5_$26_up$29. There is a section on deleting notes and notesfiles about 7/8 of the way down. How does your experience compare to what you see there?

The free L5 engine is available at http://www.logos.com/installation
I would agree with Alabama that it is worth upgrading to this if you can
Graham
Upgraded for free to Logos 5 and still having the same problem. It seems it should be a very simple thing to do to delete an unwanted document so that you can clean up your Logos but there just is no x when I hover over the created document.

Great

Agreed there isn't an "X" but you should get a popup menu including a delete option if you right-click on the document as per below (this is on Windows but I believe it is the same on Mac):
What do you get if you try this?
If this doesn't work can you "right-click" elsewhere in the app or in other applications?
I click File and the drop down menu appears. When I hover over the name of the document then the name changes color to orange and I right click and no window appears with a delete option it just opens the document that I do not want and if I right click anywhere else it does nothing.
I click File and the drop down menu appears
This sounds like you are still using Logos 4. There is a "Documents" menu in Logos 5.
Are you sure you are using the updated engine?
I seem to remember that - on Mac - the L4 icon is still present after the upgrade so important to ensure you are using the right one.
Right click does not ever give me a pop up menu it just opens applications as if I did left click.
I'm sorry my mistake you are right I did not mean File I meant that I click on Documents and yes I am using Logos 5. I thought that maybe if I upgraded it would fix the problem.
So that sounds as through your pointing device (mouse / trackpad / etc) is set so that right-click operates the same as left-click.
What device are you using? Can you change the settings?
Might need a Mac-user to comment on this (I use Windows)
No problem - as above, I think the issue is related to the device you are using as opposed to Logos itself.
Thank You Graham and Alabama for your help The problem is now fixed. I can now delete existing documents. It was an issue with the device and not the Logos. I had to change my mouse settings and I did and now there is a pop up window when I right click giving me the option to delete. Thank you for your time and help.

Thank you for your time and help.
You are very welcome.
Please feel free to post back with any further questions you may have about the use of Logos software.
