BUG: NIV84 error

When I open NIV84 I get an error "Cannot load specified book", but then NIV84 opens, but to a different reference. If I go to the block layout to open a book, I get the same error. I I use the table of capon tents or the slider at bottom, I can jump to other scripture.

Welcome to the forums! Sorry for your troubles. [:s]

Is the NIV downloaded? If so, delete it and see what happens (and vice versa). If that doesn't work, you might need to delete and reinstall the app. Do you have any of the others Logos apps (Vyrso, Faithlife, etc.)? If so, is the behavior the same? Oh... I forgot to ask, what version are you running?

I have app version 3.3.2. I did delete the book, but no change. Also, I did an iPad reboot, but no change except the slide bar doesn't work (it only worked once). I have Faithlife, but NIV84 doesn't show up.

Also, I did an iPad reboot,

DId you try killing ALL apps via the multi-task bar?

he slide bar doesn't work (it only worked once).

What do you mean by the "slide bar"? Do you mean the side menu? Can you access the home page?

I have Faithlife, but NIV84 doesn't show up.

Do your other resources show up? Do you own a base package? Are you sure you are using the same credentials?

I don't think I asked before… what device are you on? How much free space is on the device?

Also, when did you first install this app? Have you had it for a while and have been updating it to get to the current release version, or did you install it from scratch recently?

    1. I killed the apps and turned the iPad off then on. This usually clears any problems.
    2. There is a horizontal bar at the bottom where you can drag a button to different parts of the Bible. This does not work in NIV84. Same error.
    3. I have Logos 4 Starter package with all updates. Everything else appears to work fine. I have an iPad 4 with 64 gb and 38 gb available.

Did you try deleting the app?

Other than deleting the app, it seems like you have tried most things to fix glitches like this. It appears that the issue is either:

    1. A corrupt installation.
    2. A problem with your account
    3. A resource issue.

I don't have the NIV84, so I can't help you test for #3. If you have deleted and reinstalled the app, then #1 is likely ruled out. You may need to contact Logos directly about this one (or wait for a Logos tech to see this thread).

Thanks for your help. I may wait for Logos before I bother with reinstalling the app.

    I can replicate this error.

I am using the latest beta, BTW.

I wasn't having the error, but then I deleted my downloaded copy on the NIV84 resource, and redownloaded the latest version (dated: 2013-05-20T18:0618Z), and now I am getting the error when I try to change locations in the NIV84 using the verse chooser.

This does not happen in other Bibles, and the fact that the current build date on the NIV84 is recent leads me to believe that this is a problem with the resource.

    Graham,

We've isolated the problem and have updated the NIV84.  If it's downloaded locally, please remove it and download it again; this should fix the problem.
