I'm bummed...quite disappointed, really. I just finally bought the collection that had Hermann Gunkel's Creation and Chaos in it. As I'm going about my usual routine of placing each of my new resources in the proper folder/shelf of my Library... [8-|]

...where all 7000 resources are tidily and properly stored, my research and due diligence discovered something very disturbing. The "commentary" by Gunkel that was included in the Classic Commentaries on Genesis collection--"The Legends of Genesis"--well, you see, IT ISN'T ACTUALLY A COMMENTARY...it's just the introduction to Gunkel's commentary! [:O]

Seriously? Wow, I really can't express how disappointing this is! But that's not all. On the page where "Legends of Genesis" is described there is a bio-blurb about Gunkel, which mentions...

...that Gunkel has a commentary on the Psalms. So does this work by the guy who just happens to be the person who invented form-criticism (!) AND invented the term Sitz im Leben show up in the Classic Commentaries on the Psalms collection? NOPE.
Now I obviously don't expect Logos to offer EVERY item from EVERY author...but I do think it strange that the bio's that Logos creates for their own website don't more consistently inform their own offerings. It's sorta like opening a can of worms and just walking away...
Anyway...back to my D - I - S - A - P - P - O - I - N - T - M - E - N - T about Gunkel's NON-commentary. So, what is to be done about this? I though I was getting Gunkel's commentary and it turns out I didn't. Do I REbid on this if it ever gets put on CP at some future point, thus purchasing it twice? Will his Psalms commentary ever be available? Hmmmm...
