I apologize in advance if this has been posted, I could not find it.
Is it possible to search for the word "father" and filter it out so that the results only show those occurrences which refer to God?
I don't believe you can do this in a search - it would require being able to search for the string and filter on how the word is tagged in the results
However, you can do this the other way round.
Look up "God" in Bible Facts and then look at "Father" in the "Referred to as" section (bottom of screenshot below)
Thank you Graham. You're right, I was trying to figure out how to search the word with the tags as a search option. But your solution will do the job quite nicely. Now, thanks to your help, I'm back to the study...

Excellent - that's what we're here for[:)]
Notice that when I do this, I don't get any of the (two) OT references that you have on your screen shot. My total shows this discrepancy, at 224 to your 226. What am I missing?
Sorry, I tried to paste a snip into the reply and it didn't show up.
Hi Michael
But your solution will do the job quite nicely
Incidentally, I don't know if you noticed but you can expand the section (click on the ...), select all the references (drag your mouse and Ctrl-C) and paste the results into a Passage List.
Graham
I wonder if we have a different version of the Referents database. Mine was updated this morning[:)]
If you go into help (question mark at top right of screen) and select "About Logos Bible Software" on the left hand side you will see a list of datasets with their dates - my Bible Facts details are as below:
What date do you have against the Biblical Referents DB?

Although this restricts the results to the NT, you could try this LouwNida (only available for NT references) search on any reverse interlinear: <LouwNida = Louw Nida 12.12>
NOTE: LouwNida is not infallible.
ALSO NOTE: there are very few references in the OT to God as Father, there are some references that refer to God's people as His children, referring indirectly then to God as Father. I dealt with this issue a couple of years back, and wish I could be more specific. But the LN # search should get you along way toward your goal.
Clause search may be an option:

Hi KS4J
using clause search in the way you suggested is a great idea.
i thought there must have been some way of doing that but couldn't figure out what it was.
interesting that it seems to produce different results to my suggestion!
EDIT: looking again at your OT results, the first one (Gen 17:5) seems to be a false positive as the term "father" seems to be referring to Abraham as opposed to God
Clause search in Hebrew Bible:
subject:God subject-lemma:אָב
has some results to consider:
But, again, looking at the early results the word "father" doesn't refer to God
Hmmm, shouldn't Isaiah 63:16 and Isaiah 64:8 be included or am I missing something?
I think you are right.
The reason they didn't show in the Bible Facts referrent section is that the term "father" in these verses isn't tagged as "God" but as "A Father"
Would need Logos to comment on whether this is deliberate or an oversight.
And this highlights the dependence on Logos tagging for these types of searches to work properly.
Graham,
This has to be an oversight because the personal pronoun "thou" (AV) is tagged as God.
Hi Lankford
I agree[:)]
