BUG? Prayer list won't load; message tabs don't show
I am a relatively new user, having been invited into a group. The first few times I was in our group site the postings in the prayer list were loaded and visible, but the last few weeks the list doesn't load; the little green dots just sit and circle...for hours. I checked with some other group members and they don't seem to have this problem; anything I should check, settings, etc. I haven't changed anything, so I don't know why I have this problem.
Additionally, sometimes I am having difficulty in composing/posting a composed message, the post button doesn't show. In checking the helps, I don't get the related message tabs above the composing area.
Any HELP out there!
Thanks

Welcome to the forums. It sounds like a browser problem. Have you tried changing browsers?

Thanks Lynden for the prompt help. That was the ticket. Tried in Google Chrome and the Prayers loaded instantly. Sure is a mystery what changed to cause the problem through the Explorer browser.
Thanks again - have a great weekend!

There is more to this problem than a browser issues - something has been broken. I no longer see Prayer LIsts or Daily Reading plans on Faithlife.com from Chrome browser, and that has been working for months. No new install of browser. Something is broken on the server side.

We're looking into this now and will get a fix out ASAP.

Thanks Thomas!

Everything should be back to normal now. If you see the error persist please post here and let us know.
It looks like a transient service availability issue on our end. We'll continue to investigate the root cause.

Things are displaying again, but I don't think sync is working - something appears broken between desktop and other Logos clients. I have updated desktop reading plans, but a yellow triangle confirms I don't see these changes in faithlife.com

We were having issues for a very brief window this morning. Is this still an issue for you? If so, please send us your logs so we can figure out what service your client is having an issue connecting to.

I was still having the yellow triangle come up on two desktop installs of Logos 5.1 RC-2, even when I clicked on it to have it try syncing again. So I closed them both down, restarted, and now both are syncing again, including with Faithlife. Not sure why I had to restart for sync to start working!
Thanks

Hi Thomas,
I originated this inquiry, and after the string of replies, the first reply is still the only fix working for me regarding the Prayers loading issue. Since you mentioned that you think it is now OK, I entered through my Explorer browser and experience the same problem; then to Chrome - no problem.
As I stated before, my first few visits to the Faithlife group site there was no problem through the Explorer browser; I may not be very computer-wise, but something happened, I'm clueless, but willing to take any guidance if on my end, but for now, switching over to the Chrome browser will suffice.
Thanks.

Tony and/or Abbie: I've made a slight tweak that I might fix the problem for you in Internet Explorer. When you get a chance, could you try again and let me know if it works for you in Internet Explorer now?

Good morning - got your message this morning about the tweak for Explorer, unfortunately there is no change; Group Readings, Community Notes, Calendar all load, but Prayers continues to sit there and spin.
If I get a chance this evening I will try access from a different computer with Explorer and let you know the results. If you are having other complaints then it must just be my system; I have feelings that it may be the fact that that I am on my computer at work, but that doesn't quite make sense as to why it initially worked and now it doesn't or why am able to access through another browser. Explorer is always giving me a Security Warning "So you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?" - it makes no difference as to whether I say Yes or No.
I have asked others in the group if they are having trouble, none are reported; can't say that all or some are using Explorer, but I would imagine they are.
Thanks again for you efforts.

Thomas,
As I accessed our group Prayers through Chrome this morning and was reviewing the list of older prayer and was thinking about deleting some I recalled something that might be important; the last time Prayers worked through Explorer I thought I was clicking to open a prayer request, but I clicked to the left-hand side of it and it deleted. It surprised me because there is nothing to indicate that clicking there would delete the item. I did it to another and the same thing happened. Maybe something happened there, because after that the Prayers no longer loaded.
Hope that might be a clue.

Thomas - Here is another item that might offer some direction as to what is occurring with Prayers - As Chrome is now what I can see as working; if I click on "Add" with Prayers a "window" (NOTE - a small window) opens for New Prayer Request, but when I do this in the Explorer, though prayers haven't loaded, the "Add" opens to what appears as a plain text page with additional items under Schedule for selecting repeat occurrence, specific day selection, and start/end dates.
Regards,
TI

One other item that may help us track this down: which version of Internet Explorer are you using? e.g. IE 7, 8, 9, or 10? You should be able to find this by looking for the "About Internet Explorer" option under the Help menu.
