I'm not following you here, when I open the file I see the text that was highlighted.Mark Barnes said:But even more importantly, the MyClippings.txt file only records positition numbers, not the actual text highlighted.

My apologies. I was looking at a file that only had bookmarks, not highlights. That obviously makes it much easier. It would still be limited to highlights made on that one device, though.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

We are only talking about one device. If you were using the Kindle Fire or other tablet, you would use the Logos App and thus highlighting would already be made in your Logos resource. The send to Kindle feature is only for the e-ink Kindle.Mark Barnes said:It would still be limited to highlights made on that one device, though.

I don't see it happening either, and I don't care one way or the other anyway. I just want this feature!
One thing that has not been mentioned: If getting highlights to sync involved even the slightest bit of cooperation from Amazon, it will never happen for sure. It seems like it would take that if it were to be automatic. Now if Logos gave us a way to manually do it, then maybe.
But again, I don't care. I just want that "Send To Kindle" feature, as soon as possible. Surely Logos is working on it; they asked about it and now we are on 13 pages of responses.

If there is a "send to kindle" feature and you take a highlight in a book you send to the kindle, will the highlight show up here: https://kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights?
I assume it won't since personal documents don't show there, but maybe I am wrong. I know there are talks of syncing personal doc highlights in the cloud, but it isn't there yet.If the highlights do show, then that would be great because I already utilize that sight and am hoping that amazon continues to make it better.

I'm not sure if I understand your question… but Notes & Highlights taken in Logos would stay in Logos. Notes & Highlights taken on the Kindle would stay in Kindle.

I am assuming that Logos is looking to create a feature where we can export a Logos book into a text file to be sent to our Kindle. If this is the case, then the question is: do highlights in personal documents on the Kindle go to "your highlights" or only books purchased through Amazon. I suppose you could test this with any text file you loaded onto your Kindle.Jason rust said:If there is a "send to kindle" feature and you take a highlight in a book you send to the kindle, will the highlight show up here: https://kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights?

That is what I was asking. I am 99% sure that personal docs don't go to "your highlights". There's a lot of discussion about it happening, but so nothing so far.

This would be a great! Please go for it.

Still waiting for an update on this feature! Reading on an iPad is no substitute for reading on a Kindle. With this feature I would sell my iPad in a minute! Color way overrated!

I think just update the library.logos.com site a little to work better with the kindle browser. Seems to work well for me except the text size is a bit small.

The ergonomics of the kindle along with the display really make for more enjoyable electronic reading.

This would be fantastic, absolutely interested!

The nice thing about having Logos resources on Kindle is that I can slip it into the side pocket of my cargo pants and read when I take my Aussie to the dog park.

I'll fix that: Make sure the reverse interlinears display correctly in the Kindle.
And I'm also in favor of the feature.

Very glad to hear you are considering this feature! Even though I have an iPad, I love to read on my Kindle. I would use it often.

Would love to be able to read on my Kindle Paperwhite!
Logos works for me in three sets.
1. Research. That's where I use the Macbook. Not much could be better there.
2. Preaching. Here's where I use the Logos app on my tablet. The notes support is getting better but would love to see some additions here.
3. Reading. There are thousands of books in my Logos library and sometimes I just want to read them - not in that research kind of way. For this I use my tablet too. But - DUDE - I'd love to be able to read books on just a plain old e-ink screen. Hurry up with this, please.

I would love to see better search capability in Notes. Just to be able to do a search in "My Content" and have it list results with links, or highlight within the Notes, exact places where matches occur would be great. Add Bible verse searching like <~John 3:1-18>. That addition would make my Notes so much more useful.

There are some Logos books that are not available on the iPad / iPhone. Could the "send to Kindle" feature become a way of reading these books on a mobile device through a mobile device, such as a Kindle or a Kindle app on an iPad? This would be so if the "send to Kindle" function works from the full Logos 5 program. That would be very nice.

Yes. Very much interested for those books I want to read.

But it's pointless reading Logos books on Kindle for iPad when you could use the Logos app.
Not entirely pointless. I have an iPad and an Android Thrive tablet. I keep different books open on Logos and Vyrso on each device. This gives me four different books open at one time. Switching between books on these apps is not a strong point. It's easier just to switch apps or devices.
Thus, having a kindle app on each would give me two more open books, albeit without highlighting, notes, or clickable references.

Do you have a set of instructions to export Logos resources for ePub conversion?
0 -
-
Gabriel ... I'm just bouncing your question back to the top.
I don't know of instructions, though there is much discussion on the forum. Basically they export (click on the book image on top left of the resource) sections to Word. And then export that to PDF (which is copyable and mailable to Kindle as you know). I'm guessing you probably already knew this, but 'just in case'.

Follow the instructions Denise gave… then look up the free software program "calibre."

As far as I can see, there hasn't been a peep from Logos on this topic since Tonya asked for customer feedback on May 10. Is there a comment in there somewhere that I'm missing? If not, then it's been over 16 weeks and going on 300 customer comments without any kind of response from Logos.
Tonya, can you or someone else at Logos throw this poor dog a bone? [&] It sure would be nice to know if this is still being considered. [:)]

Yep. It's getting REALLY tiresome reading Bible-related books on my PaperWhite.
Believe it or not, I now own 4 separate copies of NET w/notes. But going back and forth is a pain.
Maybe someone could write software that connected Bible-related books directly to your Bible. Then just click on the text reference without exiting the book, going to the Bible, finding the reference, exiting the Bible, returning to the other book. I'll make a UserVoice suggestion.

[:D]Great idea Denise [I]. I hope Logos finds this idea great too... Oh, wait...Denise said:Maybe someone could write software that connected Bible-related books directly to your Bible. I find it hard to differentiate between you being serious and being ironic that I don't know if what you write is what you mean or not.[:@] Never a dull moment [H]Denise said:It's getting REALLY tiresome reading Bible-related books on my PaperWhite.

I am sure that it has been discussed that it is possible to send to your kindle currently but it is a real pain to do. I don't read books on my ipad/iphone.computer as it is just too hard on the eyes to do for long periods of time. That is the biggest plus of the kindle
I would love this feature...

A response from Logos would be great, but I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't be seriously considering this feature since they asked us about it in the first place. [;)]
Considering an option, and implementing it, are two different beasts. This could happen in two months, two years, or never.

Sleiman, true, I'm pretty bad! But ironically the PageWhite induces me to study the discussion points more closely. So, the next problem is needing a Bible, etc
I don't know if this is true of tablets; we have a loose Nexus 7, but it's not nearly as convenient. In the dentist office, the dental assistant was helping me read, the clarity at wide angle views are so good. (Had to hold off finishing up the racy novel; didn't want her to be distracted.)

This is one of the more exciting feature ideas in a while. I would purchase a Kindle specifically for this feature if it is implemented. Not too worried about sending notes/highlights back and forth.Tonya J Ross said:Development is considering implementing a 'Send to Kindle' feature for resources in your Logos library.
Before investing a significant amount of time on this item, we would like to assess user interest based on the fact that this feature would not support sending notes/highlights to or receiving notes/highlights from Kindle devices/apps (which is mentioned in the UserVoice request for this item).
Please let us know if you would still be interested in seeing this feature.

Looks like this thread is no longer a sticky one at the top. Does that mean that Logos has enough data and is working on moving forward with it?

Thanks, Geo! I'm so hooked on Paperwhites I'd buy a new one given the features.
I like the associated article on the Kobo ... targeted to 'power bookworms'. I like that phrase.
