What's up, doc?

Why has Logos put the Harvard Classics on prepub? I already have these—and so do many others.

They also have a separate collection of the Harvard fiction.

It gets even more interesting. Not only can you buy the Harvard Classics for $150 and the Harvard Fiction for $60 and they are under development, but you can get the 71 volume edition of both for $250 and it is already available!
So, $210 and wait, or $250 for immediate gratification.
There must be an explanation.

Logos has reissued those titles under the NOET brand which they've been developing. If you already own them, the pre-pub will show that you already have it. But for people new to the NOET platform, they'll have to wait. I guess the files will be worked over for the new branding, hopefully fixing any typos that are in them and whatever else they need to do (adding in more links to classical works, for example).
See http://noet.com for more information. Also for some fun puns on the NOET name and plenty of speculation, see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/66321.aspx.

You're right, Rosie! *smile* When I look at the Harvard Classics on Noet.com, they show my ownership by the "offering" being "grayed out"!
Because of you, I am no longer ignorant! (am now a noet all!)

Yeah, I know. I shouldn't have even posted it to support my play on words.

I thought that was about the number. Unfortunately I decided to pass on it the first time around. Can't get everything but I think this would have been good to get.

Yes, I've found this to be a wonderful collection and have read several of the titles in it now and aim to read more.

The listing of the Harvard Classics and Harvard Fiction Collections is part of our launch of Noet, a new brand and platform for scholarly research in the humanities.
I invite you to learn more about Noet at www.noet.com.
You can also read Bob's announcement about Noet on Logos Talk.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback about Noet on the Noet forum: http://community.logos.com/forums/118.aspx
Thanks!

Other than price, what's the difference?

The only difference is the price. We split up the Harvard Classics and Fiction Collection (71 vols.) into the Harvard Classics and Harvard Fiction collections and discounted them as part of Noet's launch promotion.
