In Logos 4 (and maybe Libronix?) there was a feature called something like "sermon file/add-in". It allowed you to import your own messages and illustrations. It showed up in your library with you as the author.

I had LOTS of documents uploaded but can no longer find it in Logos 5.

Any help you can provide?

Libronix had an add on feature called the "sermon file add-in." This feature was never ported to L4, although resources imported via Libronix would work in L4 (as is the case with L5). There is a new implementation of the "sermon file add in", which utilizes the "personal book builder," compiling .docx files with a specially formatted table.

If you are looking to reimport your old documents, do you know where the files are? Do you have access to Libronix?

Logos 4 did not have the sermon filing feature until version 4.6a (released October 25, 2012). It was not identical to Sermon Builder in Libronix/Logos 3.0 but was an extension of Notes. There was no ability to import sermons produced under the old Libronix/Logos 3.0 Sermon Builder addin until 4.6c (released this Monday). See http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.6c

NOTE: the new implementation isn't comparable with the old SFA. You will need to re-create .docx files if you want to use the new system.

Logos 4 and Logos 5 will automatically copy any resources you have in Libronix installed on the same computer. This includes your compiled Sermon files which have you as the author.

If you upgraded Logos 4 to Logos 5 you will have the same resources. If you installed Logos on a computer without Libronix it cannot find your compiled Sermon files.

Any help you can provide?

Logos 5.1 and Logos 4.6c now allow you to manually import your sermon files and convert them to docx files; after which you can compile and maintain them as Personal Books. The command is Import sermon files and they must be located in the Libronix folder Documents\Libronix DLS\SermonFile.

Yes, I remember being told my sermon file add in would be transferred to Logos 4. It never was. Now I've got 5.

What can I do? Is this a tech call I need to make?

Hi Gregg

As Mark outlined above, the ability to create your own books (in Logos 4 and 5) is now provided by the Personal Book tool and - from 4.6a - there was the ability to tag fields relating to sermons (and other resources).

So it doesn't work in exactly the same was as the sermon file builder but does provide a good mechanism for creating and tagging sermon files.

As Mark and Dave point out you can now import sermon files and convert them to .docx files and you can them maintain them as Personal Books.

Does any of this help to address your requirements?

Thanks for info Graham, but my question is what happened to the pages and pages and pages of documents I had in sermon fill add in (message file and illustrations file)? Previously (I'm guessing Libronix days) those were listed in my library under my name as author. They are not currently available in 5 . . . and weren't in 4.

I initially researched their whereabouts when I transferred to 4 but there was a big enough learning curve w/ 4 that I didn't give my sermon files much time. Then I forget about them. Until now.

They sit in your libronix folder and you can automatically import them to Logos 4/5 - unless you switched to a new machine without Libronix installed.
