In my study on Romans, I created a notes file when working in NASB, originally.
I've been evaluating ESV and just now noticed that not all notes show up in ESV, but some do. Why is that?
TIA, Brian
I believe notes for selected text are book specific. Notes for references apply to all text that have that reference.
Soli Deo Gloria,

As Randall said, if you tie a note to a reference (a verse) it will show up in any resource that has that reference (including commentaries).
If you tie a note to a word, or to the text, it will show up only in that particular resource. It would be impossible, or nearly impossible to change this behavior as Logos works now.
You can note this difference when you select text in a Bible, or select a verse number and do a right-click. The popup will include at least two possibilities on the right column of the popup: "Selection" and "Reference" (they will be the top two options). You must select "Reference" and then add your note, for that note to appear in other Bibles.
I wish there was a way to correct a note easily that's inadvertently been added via selection and not reference - or to even know where they are. Over the time of Logos 4/5 I am sure I have done this some times, but I have no idea when and where. I do you know that a note exists that is not showing up?

The only way I know of is to create a new note and copy/paste the content from the old one. You're right, it would be nice if this were editable in the note itself, or there were some other way to make such changes. Is there a uservoice request for that?
