Share feature in iphone app is weird

Maybe it's just me, but today I tried the share feature in the Logos app for iphone for the first time. I highlighted the text, hit share, and everything worked fine. Then, when I went to my FB page, all I saw was a link that led to a page at faithlife.com that required me to sign in for access to my books. On top of that, it showed only part of the text I had highlighted and shared. Did I do something wrong? I figured the Share feature would do just that -- share a selected text on my Facebook wall. But it obviously does not do so.

Nope. That is how it "works." I don't know if there are license agreement reasons for the behavior or not... I don't know. FWIW - I will often "share" to email to get a better result, which I copy & paste into FB. Here is the result:
"Most seminarians enter the pastoral office unaware of and ill-equipped to respond to the conflicts they will inevitably face in their churches."

It is weird. It may be a limitation of the way Facebook displays link postings. In my Facebook iOS app, I see the whole quote:
but when I use web browser, Facebook only displays the first 4 lines of the quote:
I would prefer that the quote be entered into a status update and not a link. That would fix the problem I think. However, Logos sees Facebook as a marketing tool, so they probably implemented this feature the way they did to get people to go to the FaithLife site. I'm not sure it's successful, though, since I don't post to Facebook from Logos because of the limitations.

Thanks, Todd, that's how it works for me, too. When I view it in a web browser on a desktop computer, it displays only the first four lines or so, and the link then takes you to a window that has more of the text but still not all of it (at least in the case of what I quoted). It's pretty disappointing. I thought the great thing about having a Share button was that it would do just that: share it on FB with a single tap. But then I realize that I will just have to do it the "old" way--copying and pasting text directly into FB. That's okay, but it kind of makes the whole Share feature pointless.

FWIW, I've also found the iphone app to be limited in other ways. For example, I can't do a regular text search in a book. All I can type in to the little search field at the top is a book reference, not a search string. Maybe I've overlooked something, but I don't think so.

Can you give some examples?
