I've noticed this in many commentaries and monographs—pretty much anything but Bibles. See the below screenshots. Notice that the placement of the incorrect line breaks changes when Popular Highlights is turned on.

confirm.
this has been happening for quite some time.
Thanks for reporting this Mitchell.
I'm not able to reproduce this issue. Are you on a Mac or Windows machine? What version of the app are you seeing this issue in currently? Does this happen consistently for you? Are there any steps you have to perform to cause this to happen or is it spontaneous?
Any other details you have about reproducing the issue would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
I'm not able to reproduce this issue.
Tonya I'm not the OP and also not able to see this behavior in Mitchell's screenshot - however, this behavior does exist.
Are you on a Mac or Windows machine?
Mac - see signature. OP title ..."Logos 5 for Mac"
What version of the app are you seeing this issue in currently?
current: 5.1 SR3
Does this happen consistently for you?
yes. see screenshots.
Are there any steps you have to perform to cause this to happen
no.
Hope this helps.
Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of the loop the past few days. Thanks Anon for corroborating!
Mac
5.1 SR-3 on a MacBook Air with OS X 10.8.4.
Yes. Not always, but consistently. Like I said, it doesn't happen in all resources, but so far I've noticed it in every commentary I've tried, in BDAG, and in monographs. Bibles and notes are the only types I haven't seen it in.
Are there any steps you have to perform to cause this to happen or is it spontaneous?
It's spontaneous, and continues in any layout I've tried.
Here are some more screenshots, including the settings of my resource panel. Maybe that will help.
just a few more screenshots of the issue.
Any other details you have about reproducing the issue would be appreciated as well.
I was able to cause this issue to appear and disappear in a resource by having the TOC open and then close the TOC. However, in all the previous screenshots in this post the TOC is not open.
Also, is this only happening on the Mac?
btw: (off topic) can the forum once again accept png images - please fix!

Tommy,
What happens when you adjust the resource panel dimensions?
see above TOC screenshot in my other post: in that instance opening and closing the TOC influenced the line break; however, I later tried that with another resource showing a weird line break and there was no change.
Does this happen only when you intially open to the book?
no, you may have to scroll up/down in the resource to come across this.
but can someone take an example screenshot of this happening w/ the entire Logos window showing, so that we can see the physical context the resource is in?
all screenshots in my posts are from 13" MBP, and represent 1/2 of the Logos workspace.
new screenshots in context:
Edit: off topic - png images [:S] please fix

Agreed! Ugh. [:S]
FYI - They work for me about half the time. Since my native screen capture is in PNG, I always try that first. If I have problems, I change the file extension to .jpg. NOTE: I don't do ANYTHING other than change the file extension (I dont actually use any conversion process)

For those of you on Mac: Onyx has a setting to automatically save screenshots in .jpg instead of .png. I discovered it almost by accident a couple of weeks ago and haven't had a posting problem since.[:)] (Have been meaning to post about it but haven't had time to search for the recent thread where we talked about such a setting.)
Not to take this thread on a detour... certainly is a hit or miss proposition. 2012 was sketchy, but this year 2013 has been horrible for attaching png images.
Now on topic... Alabama, as a Mac user, do you run across this line break issue?

Thanks fgh. Ah, but that would be changing my Mac's behavior. [:D] Just like changing the file ext.
Ok, back on topic... fgh do you experience this line break behavior?
Alabama, as a Mac user, do you run across this line break issue?
I've never noticed it... but most of my reading is done on the mobile app. If I were preparing sermons / talks regularly, I would be using the desktop app more.
Just like changing the file ext.
Changing the file extension has to be done for each individual screenshot. Changing the setting in Onyx changes it once and for all.
fgh do you experience this line break behavior?
Haven't noticed it yet. Have you tried turning on justification?
I understand. [:D]
I thought of that, but hadn't yet experimented with justification. Tried it just now and I was able to effect the "weird line break" behavior. Justification off = line break; justification on = line break normal.
Perhaps you've came across the resolution. And yet, are all Logos users using their texts justified? If not, why are they not experiencing this behavior? Interesting that so far only Mitchell and myself seem to experience this behavior. Well, hopefully the Dev's will find and correct the problem.
Tommy, see above post to fgh regarding justification setting in tools.
Just for fun tried having "history" panel open or closed with 2 resources: made a difference that was repeatable. see "png" screenshots.

Interesting. The thing is, while I do normally have the text justified, turning it off did not produce any of the breaks you show. Perhaps one needs to have it off during startup in order to see it? Try restarting with justification on, and see if you can reproduce it then, with either setting?
Thanks fgh

Interesting - with justification on and then opening 2 resources = everything normal; then turn off justification = 1 resource normal and 1 resource with line break.
Also interesting is changing the font "default Logos 4" see line break; set to "default" all seems normal. Line spacing seems to have no effect.
[:S]
I'm still unable to replicate this with your resources/settings
Tommy, after spending more time with this issue I'm able to now control this by font choice - using "default Logos 4", "times", "times new romans", or "tahoma" = the line break weirdness. Using fonts other than these = no line break. So I'm going to propose that this is a font issue of some kind.
EDIT: Additionally, justifying text and panel size will effect this issue.
Mitchell, what is your font choice?
This fix for this issue will be in 5.1a RC1.
Thank you very much!
For the record, my font is DejaVu Serif.
