Please DONT sync font size

I use Logos on a 27" screen, a 13" screen, a 10" netbook, (and an ipad, but that doesn't have this problem.)

When I open a layout on that 10 that I made on the 27, the fonts are HUGE and I have to shrink them to read anything. But if I then save the layout, when I open it on the 27 later, the fonts are tiny tiny tiny, and I have to adjust them again.

Could we remove font size from those things that sync?

Yes, good idea! Or at least maintain a record of what resolution screen the fonts were set on, and it could sync to other machines with the same screen resolution.

Humbly I don't think that is a good idea - this is a very slippery slope that will permeate into other aspects of the program.

If you did that, what about font size of Notes I entered, where the font size is not optimal for all displays - if users start having to wonder which editing of their Notes does and does not sync...There are bugs in the Notes right now, that pasted text goes in at the wrong font size - I have to correct it manually. Do I have to then do that on every machine?

Or what if I am formatting text; sometimes I make Bible quotes within commentary bigger and in italics - do I have to do that on every machine?

And then what about syncing other things - I have layouts that work well on a 2-display desktop machine that do not on a laptop - should Logos be smart about what to do there? I think we are asking too much of Bible software to manage that, it will never do it as well as I can (I just name 2 display layouts something distinctive so I recognize them). Can't a font size that works on both be chosen?

Sync needs to be a sync - all or nothing. If Logos starts deciding what gets synced and what doesn't, then sync is at minimum a support nightmare, and likely becomes very problematic as people won't know for sure what does and does not get sync'd.

Just commenting on this generally - and not specifically to font size

Not everything is synced today and part of that is that Logos is still including capabilities into the Sync v2 environment. So, for example, Logos 5.0b introduced sync for history and some preferences (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_5.0b)

This could be simply a journey towards "syncing everything" but (as you can see from http://community.logos.com/forums/t/62901.aspx) there were questions raised as to why synching history was necessary.

So I think it is valid to question whether everything does need to be synced between different environments.

From memory, the default font size shouldn't sync, whilst the fonts set for each panel will sync. And that's how it should be, IMO. I have quite a few resources were I've increased the font size and want that on every device.
