I have to say I really dislike the Getting started section of the Home Page. I enjoy the content I have on the Home Page, to leave this without being able to turn it off is terrible. I have used Logos 4 and 5 since the beginning, I surely know where the wiki, forums, and videos are. PLEASE let me turn it off - or make it a whole less obtrusive!!!!!

Don – It's my understanding that it only appears for a while... Mine has already disappeared.

Mine is still there. I wish it would go away.

Mine has moved being across two or three columns right at the top, to being in one column tucked away on the right. I guess in a few days it will have disappeared altogether.

Hmm. I still get it in three columns across the top.
Now I didn't open my home page until Monday, which was the first time in a long time, since I don't normally open the home page unless I want to check on updates. I wonder if the countdown timer doesn't start until you see it for the first time, so people can't wait it out by not opening the home page, and everyone is forced to see (endure [:P] ) it.

Me either.

I think so.
Another thought: What "features" do you have checked for the homepage?

Thank you for doing Beta testing you who have used Logos since the beginning.
One question? Would you have liked that when you first started?
[Yes, there should be a way to turn it off. And if it fades away, as others reported, there should be a way to turn in on]

I have everything off except release notes and updated resources.
(BTW, your prisoner number was showing when I replied. You are 5-0-2-8-6. Javert will know you are here.)

I've tried various combos. It doesn't affect it. I was especially perturbed because I don't get any infographics on the home page while the Getting Started section is showing (even with everything checked). (Unless you consider a big blue box to be an infographic).

I checked too, there is no way to turn it off. I tried one by one turning every check box on and off, and it stayed right there. The world we live in - "You may think you want to turn this off but you really don't" [:)]

Sorry to rant, but...what is especially annoying is the real estate the big blue screen takes up, preventing me from seeing other stuff - BECAUSE, it doesn't even play a video there - it just brings up your browser! Why not just a link? Make it prominent position on the screen fine, but what a waste of space! I wonder if the Logos team doesn't have their Home Page up either, thinking it is only for newbies - they couldn't have enjoyed staring at this for days...

After reading all the posts in this thread, thought that repeatedly pressing F5 to refresh the Home Page might cause it to take the hint. Unfortunately, all that did was move it to new locations on page 1. Every other time, it spanned two columns in the upper left.
Fortunately, it is not all that intrusive with a large screen (Sorry Bama [:D])
