I seem to be having trouble with the read aloud feature in my Logos 5. On books that it should work with when I click on it nothing happens. It does change to stop reading aloud but there is no voice?
Any suggestions?
Hi Eric
Are other apps generating sound successfully?
Are you running on Windows or Mac?
Graham
Sound is working find on all other apps. Running it on a PC
Can you give a screen shot? Knowing which resource might illuminate. Is this true with multiple resources? What about bibles? What about the Lexham English Bible audio book? What version of the app are you running? What OS?
It isn't working for any resource including bibles.
I wish it worked for all logos books. Wouldnt that be neat?
It does work with the Lexham Bible but nothing else. I am running it on Windows 8. I am running app version 5.1 SR-3

I presume that it works when reading:
Is that right? The LEB is the first resource to add an "audio book" read along to it. When you use "read aloud" in other resources, it utilizes the computerized voice feature that comes with your operating system (windows 8). My guess is that you have some setting in windows which is preventing the read aloud to function properly… perhaps even a volume setting muted. I have not used windows in more than a decade, so I can't be of much more help… but I am fairly certain the problem lies somewhere here. Of course, there could be a more simple fix… have you tried restarting windows? [:D]
*The audio book is currently NT only.
I have tried restarting windows. It is also happening on my lap top also running windows 8.
Your right about the Lexham and Marv Allen's voice.
I will check the windows settings

There is a possibility that it is a windows 8 only bug… What version are you running Graham?

I am running L5.1 SR3 on Windows 8 64bit and read aloud works fine for resources that allows it.
Hi David
Any setting in windows 8 that you had to change to get it to work?

Nope. I just clicked on the Read Aloud in the ESV and it started reading. Then I tried it in the Faithlife Study Bible Notes and it read just fine.
I don't know if you have got this working yet
In Windows 8 (and I believe in 7) you can control the volume settings for each running application (using "Adjust system volume")
Do you have the slide for Logos muted or very low?
Hi Graham,
I was on the phone with Logos tech support for 4 hours yesterday and even in level 2 support they could not find the issue. They created a dump file and sent it to the development team. I guess they have had other calls on this issue and believe it to maybe a bug. I will let you know what they come back with.
Thanks for your help though.
Upgrading to Windows 8.1 fixed the issue for Eric.
