On-line Bible Courses?
I was really excited about the possibility of Logos Mobile Education, but it looks like it is going to be cost prohibitive for me. I am a work-from-home-mom freelance writer and speaker. I would love to add to my biblical knowledge, but don't have the financial or time resources needed for a formal degree program. We are also in the process of adopting from Ethiopia, so all our extra money is going to that right now.
I have read multiple times in these threads about free on-line Bible classes. I did some searching and was overwhelmed by the amount of sites offering classes, but have no idea what is good and what isn't. Can anyone recommend programs to look at? If you can't post them here, can you private message me?
Thank you so much!

They are not free but you might give the audio lectures at audible a try: http://www.audible.com/mt/TheGreatCourses/
Biblical training (http://www.biblicaltraining.org/) offer many excellent classes for free. It's an initiative headed by the well-known Greek scholar Bill Mounce and many of the lecturers are well known too.
Also, Covenant Theological Seminary offer many of their courses for free (http://www.covenantseminary.edu/resources/).

I agree with Simon...Biblical Training.org is a great resource! Also check out a Ligonier Connect. (connect.ligonier.org) Only $9.00 per month for unlimited access to at least 45 courses...conservative reformed with noted theologian Dr. R.C. Sproul and others. Nice audio downloads and pdf workbooks plus online videos. Well worth the money!
ITunes University has a lot of seminary course lectures available for free. e.g. I'm currently going through Darrell Bock's New Testament Introduction class from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Thanks Pam, did not know about ITunes University. Looking at the different offerings.

Covenant Theological Seminary offer many of their courses for free (http://www.covenantseminary.edu/resources/).
Indeed. I have particularly benefited from and enjoyed Dr. Calhoun's Church History, Dr. Doriani on the Epistles & Life of Jesus, and Dr. Bayer on Life of Paul.

Take a look at the Internet Biblical Seminary at www.internetseminary.org. It is pretty incredible.
Tyndale Theological Seminary offers their courses free (sans credit) online , if you don't need a degree. If you want a degree it is $60 per credit hour and entails a lot more assignments. They also have traditional classrooms at their Dallas-Fort Worth campus.

EDIT: I see Anita already mentioned this. http://community.logos.com/forums/p/72739/506628.aspx#506628 Thanks Anita!
Another option I ran across is Ligonier Connect, affiliated with R.C. Sproul. You can access all courses for a flat $9 per month. Of course this is from a Reformed Covenantal perspective. They even have Economics and Philosophy courses.

If anyone is looking for a KJV/TR based education here is a small IFB church Bible college that is totally free.

The quality of presentation is about what you would expect from a small venture but the content is what matters.

Heather, there is no way for us to PM you on the Logos forums. You'll need to post some way of contacting you (disguise your email address somehow so spambots don't pick it up if you decide to post that here).
In the meantime, you can listen to free courses from Regent College (a very excellent interdenominational graduate school in Christian Studies in Vancouver, BC) on http://www.regentradio.net/ - they cycle through each day's lecture three times in a 24-hour period so you can listen at a time that's convenient in your timezone. You can check out the schedule of upcoming courses ahead of time at http://www.regentradio.net/schedule.php.
Reformed Theological Seminary has free courses on iTunes U: http://itunes.rts.edu/
Thank you! I will check those out. I didn't realize that we couldn't private message here. Sorry about that. My email is info @ heatherablondi.com.
