Can't get rid of yellow status bar

I open up L5 (5.1.1.0594) to find out I have 300MB of updates. So I cancel the yellow status bar, and the exclamation point on the shortcut bar goes yellow. Immediately, the yellow status bar slides back into view, and the exclamation point goes grey again. This happens over and over and I can't get rid of the status bar. I have restarted the software but it makes no difference.
Is there a way round this?
Thanks
Richard

I noticed the same thing today. I think the only way to get rid of it is to download the update. What I didn't like about it is that it took valuable space up on the shortcut bar.

You can completely disable the Notification Bar in Program Settings. That solves the short term problem, but doesn't directly address what is happening in your situation.

I think this normal. The exclamation point in the circle is there to tell you that you have a message or pending work to be done. You can hover over it to see the status without clicking on it. If you're indexing it will show the percentage complete.

I think Richard's issue is this:

Yes, that's right. The problem is that as soon as the notifications bar is dismissed, it immediately reappears.

Can you verify that nothing new is happening to re-trigger this? For example, is a download going on in the background?

As a reminder… when you are on beta channel, you need to switch back to stable to receive "service releases." You are currently out of date. I would try updating to L5.1a SR1 and see if that fixes the problem for you.
