SUGG: Use ESV Audio backend for reading ESV text

The ESV people at crossway have done a great job at tagging a professionally-read audiobook version of the ESV. They have it tagged verse-by-verse so that when you are accessing their online text, the specific verse range you want will be read.

I'm wondering if Logos can work with ESV to bring this functionality to Logos4. I would be a very cool and useful feature.

Yes, yes, yes. This year I listened the ESV Study Bible Daily Reading by this and it is just great. The only problem is it is not synced with Logos. Please, try to look at the possibility. To be able to highlight my ESV text in Logos while listening would be just perfect.

Unless I'm mistaken those are actual sound files, perhaps MP3 which are streamed. Not quite the same as the computer generated screen reader.

The tradeoff is a huge amount of space - several MB's for each translation, who knows how many GB's that would be for all of them!

Yes, but we all have hard disk drives in the TBs and unlimited instantaneous downloads - it's the future, man!

Not all of us. I'm still stuck with dual 500GB drives in a RAID mirror. (I've lost data due to drive failure at least twice before.)

And the future won't happen until at least a few moments from now. No I mean now. No... then again now... oh forget it. Every time I pinpoint the future it passes present and heads to past.

Those are "huge" mp3 files...but mp3 files that crossway has designed to be streamed from their servers. So I would envision this feature as a internet-connected-only feature that would come on a streaming basis.

It would blur the lines between internet and desktop even more, but hey why not?

Even that would be great. Off line would be better, even if it would mean a few GBs. It also helps my English (I hope) as I listen Bible reading every day.
