How to do a complex Hebrew search in Logos, such as...

I am looking for the particular Hebrew expression "יהוה אֱלֹהֵי" followed by a proper noun and not any noun or a suffix
Does somebody know how to do that?
I have found "יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל" but is there any other proper noun ?

I'd assume you go via Cascadia syntax graphs, but as I have no experience regarding this (or Hebrew at all), I'll defer to those who do.

The best way is with the Syntax Search, but this can also be done (well enough anyway) with the morph search. Here are both.
Morph search
Note that some results are false hits, as participles or direct object markers are simply ignored, as well as because we cannot do searches that include the vowels.
Syntax Search
The syntax search resolves both of these limitations. Here it is:
And the results look perfect:
I have published this syntax search to the Logos Syntax Searching Faithlife Group. If you join the group you can download the syntax search. Enjoy!

I don't fully understand exactly what you mean by "and not any noun or a suffix", but to search for "יהוה אֱלֹהֵי" followed by a proper noun is as simple as a morph search for "יהוה אֱלֹהֵי" BEFORE 1 WORD @NP.
Switching to an analysis search and grouping by lemma will reveal that the proper nouns are:
- יִשְׂרָאֵל (Israel)
- אַבְרָהָם (Abraham)
- דָּוִד (David)
- אֵלִיָּ֫הוּ (Elijah)
- שֵׁם (Shem)

This method misses verses like Josh 7:19, 20; 8:30; 9:18 where there is a preposition in front of יהוה.

I'm not exactly sure who is responsible for this, but I am pretty sure the person who set the point size for most Hebrew fonts wears coke-bottle glasses. As the OP clearly shows, the Hebrew font is at least 6-8 points shy of the English font in size and readability. The consonants are virtually unrecognizable and indistinguishable, and the vowel points are practically nonexistent. As someone who often uses Hebrew fonts in my writing, I find I have to increase the font by at least the 8 points or more to make the vowel points readable. This of course causes large gaps between lines of text even though the Hebrew letter size is on par with the surrounding English letters.
Since this issue will likely never be addressed and fixed, does anyone know a work around for this? Can I adjust the distance between lines to compensate for the larger point size of the Hebrew in order to make that extra gap go away?
Sorry for piggy-backing on this thread...the OP just shows pretty clearly what I'm talking about. Extremely frustrating.

There is always lemma:יהוה BEFORE 1 WORDS lemma:אֱלֹהִים BEFORE 1 WORD @NP if you want a broader search, but that also gives some false positives (if I've understood the intent of the question correctly).

Right! cf. my post above - I posted a more precise version of this search, as well as a syntax search, which avoids the false positives. [:)]

is there any set/list of complex command lines for different possible searches for English as much as Hebrew or Greek? a personal one or one that could be found here in the website or in the forum. That could be a good help
thanks in advance

seems to work fairly well. There might be a false positive or two in the mix, but that can be mentally erased.

You're welcome! Yeah, it's pretty amazing what you can do with Logos with a little creativity and training. [:D]

I still have a hard time with the hebrew keyboard though
I do prefer the syntax search. I have to learn it
Now just to complicate the matter
Can we do the same search but like lemma:יהוה BEFORE 1 WORD lemma:אֱלֹהִים@ncmpc BEFORE 1 WORD @np
without
lemma:יהוה BEFORE 1 WORD lemma:אֱלֹהִים@ncmpc BEFORE 1 WORD lemma:יִשְׂרָאֵל
what is the technical word that I should use for "without"? is it "ANDNOT"?

I created a second Syntax Search as well and uploaded it to the Faithlife site (it is called Adonai Elohei + Proper Noun (except Israel)). You can connect to it and see how it works.
Here you can really notice the difference in how clean these results are compared to the Morph search option, as most of the false positives in the Morph Search come when Israel is not mentioned.
