Hey all! Can someone tell me what the exclamation mark you see in the picture below is? I've never seen it before and nothing happens when I click on it or hover over it...

Huh...now that same exclamation mark has gone from clear to a yellowy orange in colour!
It's just a new notification icon, which was introduced recently.

This notification icon has actually been a bit annoying for me as it now covers space where I had previously put short cuts and now there is a scroll bar. I just wish that it took up less space than it is currently taking up.
You can disable it under tools - program settings
I don't think that setting will change the "notification center". Just the "notification bar."
I think I disabled it there, if not under "show alerts". This is what I get when I add a new resource:

Am I missing something? The "notification center" (circle with exclamation point) is still showing In your screen shots. Bruce doesn't want it to appear at all (that's how I read his comment).

I assume he is talking about scroll bar, which doesn't look as "scroll" but notification bar

About the icon, the is nothing we can do, but as for me, it doesnt take much space, you need to sacrifice one shortcut
your screenshot gives away that you have a wide monitor. My iMac looks similar. My MacBook has scrunched space... The notification center would take up 2-3 shortcuts. Not only because of the icon, but the extra space to left and right.

Its true, but there are other icons, such as help icon, Layouts, sync icon. If we would get notification icon before, together with other icons, nobody would even complain...
