Different number of books on iPad and iPhone

Recently I found out that on my iPad I have much more books available in the library than on my iPhone. When searching for 'dictionary' the iPad shows 68 books, the iPhone only 3. I thought this might be on purpose (books not fit for a small screen?) but Logos tags books for 'iOS', not for iPad or iPhone, so you would expect the same books are available. Last week I upgraded both devices to iOS 7 but I don't know if it's an iOS 7 issue or not. Who can help?

Hi Joep- and welcome to the forums

    This sounds very strange.

Are you running the same version of the Logos app on both devices?

I don't have an iPhone but I do have an iPad and an Android phone - and they give different results as well.

However, the differences there seem to be related to search criteria. The iPad seems to pick up resources which have "dictionary" in the title or in the longer description whereas the Android app only picks up resources which have "dictionary" in the title.

Like you I would have expected the results to be the same on iPad and iPhone (and on Android as well but that's another story)

Can you give an example of some resources which appears on the iPad and not on your iPhone so people with both devices can check whether they are seeing the same thing?

    Graham

I wonder if the iPhone was not connected to the internet, so it only found the resources downloaded to the device.

Once you have been away from the internet, you may need to kill the app and restart it before all resources become visible again.

Graham and Jonathan, thanks for your replies. Unfortunately all your suggestions didn't help. A lot of resources simply didn't show up, whatever keywords I used. Restarting the app and restarting the device didn't change a thing.

The solution turned out to be simple: delete the app and reinstall it. All my books are there again! Have no idea what the problem was, perhaps it was an iOS 7 update issue after all, but anyway, it works again. Sorry having bothered you.

    Sorry having bothered you.

No problem at all - glad you have it working again and please feel free to post back with any questions about the use of Logos software.

I found it an interesting difference between the Android and iOS apps so that's a bonus[:)]
