Yeah, layouts are here on alpha 7.
My only question is this, can we save named layouts? I tried naming one as a test, see above, and it did not save.
Other than that, it seems to work great and no crashes!! :-)
You should be able to save them.
1) Click the pencil icon (you have to be very accurate when clicking the pencil)
2) type the name you'd like
3) press "Return" (or "Enter", if you use a non-Apple keyboard)
I'm able to save layouts on my Alpha 7 machine using that method.
Hi Cameron, I have done that a few times to test things out.
I name the layout
I shut down L4 and when I reopen Layouts, there are no named layouts
I am left with a "Snapshot" but nothing in the named / saved layout area.
I am seeing the same thing on mine Joe.
Joe,
In my testing of layouts, here is what I have found. If you rename the current layout, it will not appear at relaunch. Upon relaunch, scroll down to the snapshot of the layout that you tried to rename, rename the layout again. It should appear in Named Layouts upon relaunch.
To me, it appears to be a bug in saving current layout. Hope all this make since.
Should have used wording "Now" layout, instead of "current layout."
Interesting. I can't save the "Now" layout either, but have success with the others (I hadn't tried the "Now" previously). Can you save other non-"Now" layouts?
I can save all non-now layouts and have them appear at relaunch.
Ah ah, yes that is it.
If I try to right click and save the "now" layout, it does not save.
BUT, when I use the pencil icon on any of the other layouts, it saved right away to may named layouts.
Only a small bug, but a very stable addition to the Alpha Cameron :-)
FYI, there is no pencil icon in the "now" layout, so that is why I had to use the right click option.
Once a layout is named and saved, is there anyway to adjust and re-save the layout.
