Logos Icon Keeps Disappearing from Quick Launch Bar

This is beginning to be a pain. Twice now Logos has updated and as a result the Logos icon has changed to a generic icon on my quick launch bar. The program still launches, but the icon no longer says Logos on it. I have to remove the quick launch icon, go find where the Logos program is located and re-add it to the quick launch bar.

I'm sure this is a programming glitch as when Ccleaner, iTunes and other programs update, the icons stay on my quick launch bar as they were.

It is a windows issue, not a logos one. Other windows users have experienced the same thing with other apps.

Not logical. It does it with Logos and not Ccleaner and iTunes.

It has happened on my laptop as well a few times. Odd, but it's always been just the Logos 5 icon that disappears, too.

You are complaining about a windows feature not working properly. For whatever reason, this is indeed a windows issue.

Alabama, I don't quite understand why you keep repeating this. Yes, it is a bug that only seems to occur on Windows machines, but don't you hear people saying that it only happens to their Logos icon? If Logos and Windows don't get along well together, should we not discuss both and try to find out why Logos updates cause this behavior?

I just noted Alabama24 is a Mac user. Blaming this on Windows with no explanation why seems like a cop out or a reason to start a Mac / PC feud.

I'd much rather get this fixed than start a war.

Im sure the reason "Alabama24" continues to repeat the statement, is because people are not "getting it". As said, " For whatever reason Other people have had issues with OTHER apps". Not ALL apps, other, unspecified apps. Why? It apparently is a peculiarity within Windows. Since Bob was associated with Microsoft (my understanding or perhaps misunderstanding?) in their development dept, would be pretty savvy to being able to play well with Windows. Perhaps it is indeed something being done incorrectly at Logos; but, my guess is, it's something to do with firewall settings, windows configurations, and/or something along those lines. Normally, it should be because of notification settings. A simple reconfiguration should allow the icons to appear, showing icon and notification, showing icons only, or hiding icon and notification. I have Logos showing icon and notification, but, it does not. Are there others not showing? Actually, I have not paid attention, because I tend to have mine hidden.
But, I assume "Alabama24" is repeating, because there is not much else to say, other than, it is a glitch with Windows, not Logos, even though it happens to be glitching with Logos, and, there is nothing Logos can do about it.
At least, thats my take.

Oh, let's hope not. Not here. Its bad enough on tech sites, not here.
I'm Windows neutral. That said, it's amazing Windows even works at all, because of it's customizability. So many potential configurations allow so many things to go wrong.

The issue is an OS one. I am not making a "Mac over Windows" argument, but I am saying that the problem is inherent in windows. I am guessing that it is a permissions issue. Is "Logos" to blame? No. Microsoft is the one who handles this feature works, not Logos. My guess is that there is something in the way that Logos operates which Windows doesn't like... but that isn't "Logos fault." I have heard that a similar issue happens with evernote... but in any case, this is an OS issue, and not a "Logos bug."

Personally, I keep items on quick launch to an absolute minimum. If I can hit the "Start" button, type in a letter or two and have the program listed to start, I don't put it in the quick launch bar. I also don't have icons on my desktop—absolutely clean. I figure it's more trouble to look for the item than to type in the letter(s).

It may be particular to Windows OS, but I run dozens of programs, and have not experienced this issue with one other program. Every single time Logos has updated in the last month, I lose the icon on both the Start Menu and the Task Bar.

It's a windows issue... Let's see if I can remember how to say the solution... i think you need to "re-pin" the shortcut while Logos is running.

That's correct. I've not had this problem with Logos, but I get it sometimes with Evernote.

I'll take a look at the bug thread mentioned and maybe post there, but for what it's worth [Y] (or not worth [N]), I'm having the same icon problem and only with Logos 5.

I'm running Windows 8 64 bit and the problem just started happening recently, so something has changed to cause it. A Windows update? A Logos update? Maybe both?
