Complete Jewish Bible ~ what to make of this?
Hi everybody, what is the best value here at Logos for getting an accurate translation of Psalm 2:12?
What the Jews read, I want to read... in english (grin).

Perhaps you'd like to consider a basic Biblical Commentary that is good on the Old Testament that is "mobile" equipped for downloading to your Android. There are many; and perhaps some would like to share their favourites ....
Until that day comes .... perhaps a simple explanation from my Logos Library of the meaning of the passage would be of benefit to you??? If not, please ignore ... *smile*
2:12 Kissing, an Act of Homage
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
“Kiss the Son” means “do homage to the Son”—the kiss is a sign of homage and submission. When Samuel anointed Saul he kissed the newly-made king. This act of homage was a recognition of his royalty (1 Samuel 10:1). In this way the Psalmist desires all men to recognize the royalty of the Son.
On the negative side, kissing was also an act of worship among idolaters (see 1 Kings 19:18, Job 31:27, and Hosea 13:2).
In a book written about 150 years ago, the writers told of an incident that took place near Petra, an ancient ruined city of Edom in what is now southwest Jordan: “One day about mid-afternoon, a great cavalcade entered our camp from the southward. There were many mounted Arabs with lances, and we observed that there were some among the horsemen who wore richer turbans, and of more gaudy colors, than is usual among Bedouins or peasants. As the procession advanced, several of Abou Raschid’s Arabs went out and led the horses of the chiefs by the bridles into the camp. The whole procession alighted at the tent of our chief, and kissed his turban. This was a signal of pacification. Peace was immediately proclaimed throughout the camp, and notice was given that all of the men bearing arms who had come from a distance, many of whom had joined us that very morning, were to return to their respective homes.”
In a large branch of Christianity today, the rings of certain church leaders are kissed by the ordinary saints as a sign of homage and submission especially the rings of the bishops, cardinals, and the pope.[1]

Try using one of the reverse interlinears. I don't like them myself, because I prefer the LHI which is a regular interlinear. But the reverse interlinears are free if you have a high enough base package.
Also, I am not impressed with the CJB. I was really expecting more. Seriously, start learning Hebrew.

I like to use the UBS Handbook series.
I also like using the NET translation notes.
It also doesn't hurt to do a text comparison. [:)]

UBS & NET are both good. It's good to get a rundown of what the options are and how and why a choice is made. Even if you don't like the choice made by others (I deplore NET's eagerness to seemingly prefer emendations to the text), the review of options is very helpful.

No problem. You'll love the NET notes! They are worth way more than the ten dollars Logos charges! Plus, you get another English Bible to compare.
Another good but "not cheap" resource I use for text concerns is the Word Biblical Commentary. It contains its own translation of the original text and has a section for textual issues. Here is a screenshot for Psalm 2:12:
I thought you might like to see what it has to say since its not in your budget to purchase quite yet. [:)]
