George– You can add emoticons manually if you'd like. A wink is [ ] (without the spaces). That's how I add them on mobile (like now). [;)]

Congratulations, Mick, you are a real blessing to this community.

Hi George
Don't understand why you don't get emoticons - I see them and am running Windows 8.1[:)]
Do you have your "Content Editor" set to "Plain Text" as opposed to "Standard" or "Enhanced"?
Graham
PS: MIck - sorry to hijack your congratulatory thread[Y]
It seems that Windows 8 is getting continually worse.
Would tell you the best fix for that, but that would be hi-jacking the thread, and I wouldn't want to do that [;)]
+1 [Y] Thankful
Keep Smiling [:)]
Mick, I really appreciate all your thoughtful posts. You are a credit to this community. Thanks.
Do you have your "Content Editor" set to "Plain Text" as opposed to "Standard" or "Enhanced"? Where do I find that?
=> http://community.logos.com/user/EditProfile.aspx then click "Site Options"
By the way, my forum signature has four emoticons.

Thank you NB.Mick for your valuable help.
There are no site options in my Faithlife Profile.
Look in the upper right corner of this page. Click the Edit link, and it will take you to the page in the screenshot.
We seem to have too many links with the same name that take you to different places.

What are you doing in Faithlife? Site Options are here, in your forum profile.

Do you have this?
Thanks NB. Now go for another four thousand.

clicking on "Edit" doesn't produce any site options.
George, it's supposed to look like this, when you click on it:
when this works, after you click the Site Options button you'll see this:
which allows configuring the editor, as well as changing the signature.
How does it look on your machine?
Thanks Jack and all of you for your congratulations - this forum really is a special place to be, and I'm glad when I can help someone using the greatest bible software out there! And I learn myself everyday.

Pardon me - I have overlooked these buttons myself in the past (light green text on a nearly white button doesn't cry out on a webpage in every situation of brightness and monitor setting), and this with my teenager eyes....
I'm wondering if the buttons rely on javascript or anything else that might be blocked by your browser, and my question "how does it look on your machine" was a veiled attempt to coax you into attaching a screenshot, maybe accompanied by "since my 37th birthday last year I'm using Safari/Firefox/Opera/MySelfWrittenBrowser with these adblockers installed".
Please, no offence meant.

I would love to be able to attach a screenshot, but that is one of the functions I'm missing.
Have you / are you able to try using a different browser?
Or do you have access to another computer from which you could try?

Yes Mick, it has always been a pleasure to interact with you. Your help, insight and general demeanor all come across (over the internet) with grace as of a true Christian. It would be an honour and a pleasure to meet you in person. Thank you for the model of Christ you reflect in your own small way.
Mick, I said my appreciations of you and my thanking God for you earlier on ............. however, Sleiman did such a great job with his post, I want to re-affirm my words at this time ........... Sleiman says it so well, and I concur! Peace always! And! Joy in the Lord!
