Problem With Too Many Groups, and Ours Not Showing Up; And A Question

Problem: We have a created group, and it's about the only 'real' group on Faithlife. All of the others are pre-made. I created a user to test how easy it would be for our people to join Faithlife. Impossible. Our group doesn't even show up. Just a list of other local churches. We're interested in using Faithlife as a whole church system to keep people connected and connected to the Bible. But our church doesn't show.

With the solution to this problem - that be getting our church to show - will we be able to link groups? If we create Faithlife groups for our small groups, staff, etc, can those 'sub-groups' add our main level church group as their affiliate?

Question: As Faithlife grows and is developed is there going to be a cost? We currently use a system that we pay for, and we're wondering if Faithlife could replace that system. But, if Faithlife is going to have a cost it may not be worth moving our whole church to a new system.

I'm sorry for the frustration you've been having in trying to get your church connected through Faithlife. But I'm very excited that you guys want to try out our platform! What is the name of your group? This may help us determine how we can better prioritize search results.

The easiest way to get people to join your group is by inviting them. They don't need to be existing Faithlife users, you invite them through email. They'll receive a link to register for Faithlife and join your group. The invite button can be found on your group's member tab:

Question: As Faithlife grows and is developed is there going to be a cost? We currently use a system that we pay for, and we're wondering if Faithlife could replace that system. But, if Faithlife is going to have a cost it may not be worth moving our whole church to a new system.

We have no plans to charge for it at this time; in the future we might charge for premium things like extra documents storage or bulk text messaging, but not for the functionality you see now.

Looks like I forgot to reply to this bit. For group affiliations you have two options:

Add an affiliation with an existing group: Type the name of the group you would like to affiliate with into the "Group affiliations" form on your group's settings page.
Create a new affiliated group: Go to the "Groups" tab of your group's page and select "New affiliated group."

The name of our church is, seriously, The Church in DeKalb. It eventually shows up when you scroll through. Bigger problem, right now, I can't get a group I create to show up in Proclaim.

Only Proclaim groups (groups created from within proclaim) show up in Proclaim.

Okay.

What about group affiliations? Can special events be linked to our main level church group?

Our church, though, doesn't show up in the group affiliation search box.
