How do you turn off verse numbers and paragraph titles.
I'd really love to be able to read the bible how it was originally intended (ie like a letter, etc...). Is turning off verse numbers and/or paragraph titles even possible?
I know you can buy bibles like this, but I prefer to save the environment and read using my phone. I'd prefer to use logos, but if there are other apps that do this, what would be handy to know as well. (I guess I could switch in-between logos and the other app).

While the Bible is open in Read view, tap on the screen and then select the "Aa" icon to open the View Settings. You'll see a "Bible Text Only" setting - just turn it on. At this point the verse numbers are not turned off, but everything else should be.

Neat trick, but that seems to break each verse up into its own paragraph. This seems even less like how the original text would have been read right?

That is one way to look at it... but speaking of how "close to the original" the text would read is fairly meaningless (for a plurality of reasons).

I can't comment on the coding difficulty - not all is as it seems - but I've written up an inquiry case for this.

Nice! When you say it's currently in beta testing, is there a timeline associated with when this would come out to the public? I've recently been really enjoying reading the word as a result of finding a free "readers version" of the NET for iBooks. I would much prefer the ability to switch on/off the verse marks to either have a really clean page to read, or to switch on markings to know where I am.
How is incredible that I just started enjoying reading this way and I now hear it's in the works!

Faithlife doesn't typically comment on release dates... I know we are on at least the third beta, but I am unsure if it is an RC (release candidate). Once the devs think an app is "ready to go," it gets submitted to Apple for review. That process can take several days to a couple of weeks.
By the way, When I commented above about the "view settings"... I didn't know that it was a new feature to this release!

We try to release new versions when they are ready but unexpected issues might change the timeline - thus, we don't announce stable release dates.

Yes - please send the email address you would like us to contact you with to kevin (dot) byford (at) faithlife (dot) com. Currently beta testers are required to have iOS 8 or above (Apple's limitation, not ours). You will also need to install the TestFlight app from the Apple store.

Quick caveat about beta testing - Remember, it is beta testing. Anything can (and will at times) go wrong. For example, you might lose your entire installation at an inopportune time. This may be more often the case since migrating to "test flight"... it appears that Apple sets a 30 day count down for the app to expire.
