I have a Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 (KitKat) and I'm looking at version 2.6.7 of the Bible app and the font rendering is messed up.

We're going to see if we can identify the source of the bug and possibly report this issue to Google. It seems likely to be the result of a regression in the Android 4.4 code since the apps look fine on 4.3.
Just upgraded to KitKat today... Font is hollow and illegible.
What version of the app are you using? The current release is 4.2.8.
