Logos 5 crashes on start up in Windows 8.1

I have just purchased a new laptop and need to install Logos 5. I have attempted repeated installs and invariably get the "Logos Bible Software 5 has stopped working" as soon as I try to open the program. I have attempted to open it while holding down the control key and get the same result. I have downloaded from the installation page, so I feel pretty confident that I am working with the latest version.I have uninstalled and reinstalled again on two separate occasions. Everything seems to install correctly until the moment that I actually try to open the program.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I cannot enable logging since I cannot get to that screen, but I found this log. Will it help?

It seems logging is enabled, but confirm it using the Java script steps in http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#PC.

Immediately after the crash upload the compressed Log folder (which should contain various log files).

Thanks Dave,

I enabled logging and saw the message: "Logos 4 logging has been enabled."

After attempting to launch the program, however, I found no additional logs in the folder.

Frankly, I am not sure that the program is even opening enough to create a log.

Let's have a look at the Windows Event logs. We will then have to wait for Logos to respond, but you could call Tech Support on Monday.

Sorry to hear you are having problems but it may be due to totally different reasons than those reported by Robert

Please enable diagnostic logging as per my post above - http://community.logos.com/forums/p/77437/541665.aspx#541665 - and create a new thread including the logs with as many details as you can

I forgot about this post since I have corrected the problem. I am not sure what the difficulty was, but on my third (or was it fourth?) re-install the application loaded fine and I have had no difficulties since then.
