Lookup ... No information available
Whenever I highlight a word and then try lookup I see, after a short pause, "no information available" ... Regardless of how 'common' that word is ... I was expecting a dictionary definition at least. If this feature does not work outside of bibles then I would expect not to see the menu option. If is meant to do something in a monograph then what?
I have virtually all my dictionaries on my iPad, plus, since it only seems to show the link when I am online, I should, I think, have access to pretty much everything else.
what have I missed?
BTW. As usual ... Will somebody please fix the forum software so that we can edit on an iPad ... Please ... !

Hi Martin
Have you upgraded to iOS 7?
If so, you may need to re-engage your iOS dictionaries. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/77087.aspx for a discussion of this.
Does this help at all?

Thanks Graham.
i think that logos should change their menu to 'define'. ...so that it matches iOS since it is an iOS feature ... And also because , to me, IMHO, look up implies much more than simply defining via that built-in OS dictionary.

Ditto. I had the same confusion. I even put an Oxford on my iPod with no luck.

They do on the Vyrso app - maybe the fact that in RI-Bible enabled Bibles they can do quite a lot more they have chosen to use the "look up" term for the more sophisticated apps.
But this is pure speculation[:)]

Works for me.
EDIT: Can you tell us what you are having troubles with? I use my iPhone & iPad often to compose posts. I'm at Mickey D's right now writing to you while my boys choke down Happy Meals. [:)]

I can type but if I go back to correct a mistake, by click-holding so that the insertion point moves, I can then no longer type! So having moved the insertion point, I cannot type. I cannot even move the insertion point ... I cannot click anywhere in the text area .. The editor, in effect, freezes After a click hold. I can close the on-screen keyboard and then click in the text area so that the keyboard returns ... That allows for typing again ... But the insertion point is now in the wrong place ... So I click to move the insertion point and can no longer type ... Etc. etc.
If I single-click to move the insertion point, it does not move, instead I see the three tab context menu ... select/select All/paste which appears at the last insertion point, not where I clicked.
As I write this ... I wonder if it is an iOS accessibility setting ... Except that I do not have problem in any other app.

Martin ... that sounds like my iPod (iOS7). I've learned that some applications seem to want you to click in-between the words. And since there's no forward arrow, that means clicking at the end and backing up. That's my experience with Logos and a few other apps.
Other applications are really stubborn. They either want you to click at the start or the end.
And then there's some that are nicely behaved, letting you click just about anywhere you'd prefer.
So it seems to me that it's a combination of the iOS textbox subroutine, but also some apps are better written or at least handle it better.
Regarding the Select/Select-All popup, I just ignore it and click away until I get a hit.

I've had issue on other forum software with iOS and editing. It freezes up you have to post way that point and then go back in and re-edit the post. It can be difficult to get the insertion point exactly where you need it, at times I just leave it if it's a typo, the effort in trying to edit is sometimes not worth it. Other times it freezes up mid sentence so I have to post and then go back in to the post to finish my thought. So I've found the problem not just limited to Logos forum Software but in others like moodle too.

Here is the trick: [I just added this in after I typed everything else. You have to have patience to get a good insertion point. If you mess up, dismiss the keyboard and try again]. I know it's not easy, but it does work.
Also, if you get close but not perfect, as long as the insertion point is to the right of where you want it, you can delete and start typing. Just make sure to add back in what you had to take out.

How do I re-engage the dictionary on the Logos iPad app? I've managed to do it on the iPhone app by using the "Manage" button, however I can't find the "Manage" button on the iPad app - it's not in the dialogue box which shows no look up information is available. This is what I'm seeing:

Hi Paul-C
i had the same problem - Manage button disappearing - and was advised to try and manage a dictionary in the iBooks app,
After doing this, the Manage button reappeared in the Bible app!
