Latest update broke my Logos 5

It generally still opens, but it will not install the new updates, instead hanging on the install screen indefinitely. I can't even uninstall Logos in order to try a fresh install. It hangs on the uninstall screen. Any ideas? I am running Windows 8.1.

Yeah, I think I've figured out that it is a problem with the Windows install service. I can't get any program to uninstall. With all the tinkering around, my Logos installation is no longer functioning, so I'll have to fix Windows before I can get Logos to work now.

I don't think that is going to help. The solution seems to be only for WinXP.

There are several solutions on that page. Some are XP specific, others are for more recent versions of Windows. If you click "View products that this article applies to" at the top of the page, you'll see it also lists Vista and Windows 7. Although the automatic fix won't work for Windows 8, the manual steps for Windows 7, particularly methods 1, 2 and 4, might well fix the problem (or at least help you diagnose it further).

I had tried pretty much all of those solutions already. Ended up having to do a system restore to a few weeks ago. Will have to reinstall a few things, but otherwise no big deal. Thanks!
