Icons corrupted on updates

I have Logos conveniently pinned to my start menu and my taskbar, but every time there is an update the icons are corrupted and no longer show Logos' logo. The visual cue of the logo actually helps me find things more quickly, not to mention I don't want to see a generic logo in those two places that doesn't tell me what the program is. Is there any way you can keep the updates from doing this?

For me, it's a new phenom (though as with most Logos glitches, unique relative to other software developers' work-product).

I'd assume in the script, they're deleting the executable in the user directory and then downloading the new (vs an over-write).

That happened to me on an update some months back (I use Vista). Pinning and unpinnging did not fix the loss of icon logo. So I had to recreate a shortcut key and pin this new shortcut icon to start menu.
