Inline Strong's in KJV?

Hi David,

In Logos 5, however, I can't seem to find how to make these Strong's numbers visible in my KJV.

In the KJV click on the "Display" button and then select both "Surface" and "Strong's"

Also, is there an answer workflow now in Logos 5 for identifying the Strong's number for a work in the OT or NT and easily opening the corresponding entry in Kittel (TDNT), BAGD, TWOT, or BDB?

You need to prioritize your library to determine the dictionaries that open first when you click on the Strong's number or do a Bible Word Study.

I am not seeing "King James Version," anymore. It's just calling it "Authorized Version" and it doesn't have the "Display" button at the top.

Do you have one of the base packages? I just double checked and the KJV comes with all of the base packages.

If you do have a base package, how long have you had Logos 5? Is it a brand new installation?

When you upgraded from Libronix to Logos 5, did you sync your licenses to the server?

Upon further thought. If you still have Libronix installed:

Sync licenses with the Logos servers.
Sign into Logos 5 with the same user name.
Type "Update Now" (quicker) or "Update Resources" (more thorough) into the command bar and see if it downloads to Logos 5.

The KJV is not a free download according to the products page. It is about $10.00 (U.S.)

I have Scholar's Silver Library (from way back) and it had KJV. Just got through working with Logos Support, before encountering this problem. They had me send them my backup license file and they uploaded it. My Logos 5 installation immediately updated itself. But it doesn't appear to have added my KJV. I've emailed them back for help on it. Hopefully, will hear back soon. Thanks!

Great, it looks as if you are making progress. Be warned though that their email support is the slowest of all solutions. If you are in the United States I would highly suggest calling their toll free number.

I tried this and left my Libronix running all night - it would not sync, although it had an Internet connection - it just stayed stuck on Step 2. That's why I called support, and she had me do it manually by emailing her the file. Shouldn't that have added back my KJV? Odd.

I understand that but Logos has at least two different resources. One is titled "King James Version" and has interlinear capabilities and the other is titled "Authorized Version" and has no interlinear capability.

In my Logos Installation, they are two separate resources .... the authorized is the 1769 KJV, the KJV is the 1900 KJV ... The Cambridge Bible is also a separate resource. Also the 1900 KJV has the Logos Interlinear setup ........... anathema indeed to you, George!

Logos has three different KJV available.

The first one is from the old Logos days. I do not think they sell it anymore. Being an “only KJV” guy, I feel this one is the closest to what people think of as the KJV. But, it does not offer an interlinear or display option.

Therefore, I study with the second option.

In comparing texts using the Text Comparison took, I did not care for the third option. Just my opinion.

No church council or pope. I simply think interlinears are counterproductive and therefore an abomination. When you have the English right under your nose, you aren't really reading the Greek/Hebrew, you are reading the English. Let's not pretend otherwise.

Being an “only KJV” guy

Well, Foghorn Leghorn, I don't wish to get into any controversy, but I would appreciate it if you could explain why you are an "only KJV" guy. There must be some rationale.

David ... see below. Maybe you did have a KJV named KJV. But Libronix had an Authorized Version (KJV as listed above). It included both an inline and interlinear view of Strongs. The L5 version doesn't, so effectively they removed some of your functionality. I'm guessing since you have the older silver package but didn't buy the L4 'crossgrade', you're missing what you paid for. There's some missing fairness, but the crossgrade is very much worth it for your use of Logos5. There's also a L5 crossgrade, but it's not as critical.

The L4 crossgrade includes interlinears with Strongs for both the KJV and Cambridge versions (plus much more).
