Problem with Faithlife Website

Dear Sirs,

I emailed the support team about this but just got a reply which was not helpful nor did it solve the problem being faced. I'm hoping I will get better progress by mentioning it here or find out how I can resolve the issue myself.

When I'm logged into Faithlife on the left hand bar I get a list of groups of which I am member or administrator of. One of those is Homerton Baptist Church (Church Open England 1 Member) which I had setup and wanted to add people to. The problem is when I click on the link I get sent to the correct URL https://faithlife.com/homerton-baptist-church/activity however I get told "Not Found, The page you are trying to access does not exist."

If I use the search facility and enter "Homerton Baptist Church" I get the correct group listed first and when I click on it I get sent to the same URL and get the same error.

The helpful technical support when I said this query stated:
"Thank you for your email. I am unable to directly delete that faithlife group on my account side, but I can certainly assist with you removing the group. Simply log into your Faithlife account online, and click on the “groups” option on the left. Then select the specific group specifically, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and hit the “delete group” option."

Clearly I cannot click "delete group" as the group page does not show and therefore this is impossible. I explained this in my reply which I sent on Tuesday. Unfortunately there has still been no resolution nor have I had a reply to say anyone is working on the issue and they will get back to me.

I'm new here and so having this issue so quickly after starting to use the facility is an unfortunate way to commence. Not knowing whether my support case is still being worked on is equally unnerving.

If anyone has any suggestions of what I need to do to resolve this issue I would be very grateful.

John, thanks for the feedback. Your help and communication is much appreciated. To be fair knowing someone has confirmed there is an issue and that it is being looked at puts my mind to rest. As soon as we've got this sorted out we hope to get our church congregation using this facility. The problem is that currently they can't join our church group during their setup process which is unfortunate so I'm holding off announcing it.

John, fantastic That is a relief to have resolved and able to get back on track.

I hope you don't mind me asking another question which has arisen. I was testing FaithLife App on Android with Proclaim. I had previously tested FaithLife.com and found it will be incredibly useful as a church. The problem we have is this. Users can signup for a FaithLife.com account and gain access to a number of key books and bible versions including ESV Bible. We have discovered however that when they login to the FaithLife app they can no longer access ESV and we also found that there is a $10 (£6.50) license fee per users to use ESV. As a church we use the ESV and so obviously would like to use that within the App. The problem we face is this inconsistency and also the fact that the congregation can download the ESV for free outside of the App. As you will appreciate the church congregation will be wondering why they need to pay £6.50 ($10) for it.

Is there any way around this issue? What is the "license" fee for? If a fee has to be paid is there any way we can organise a bulk price? I know it doesn't seem much but we have 60% of our congregation under the age of 30 and only 30% of the congregation are in paid work. Being based in Hackney, London which is the most deprived borough in the UK we have to make every penny work and avoid cost where we can. Any thing you can do to help us therefore would be greatly appreciated. Of course if the cost truly cannot be avoided can you explain the full benefits gained by the payment?

Stephen, thanks for your questions. I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say "when they login to the FaithLife app they can no longer access ESV". Would you please clarify?

The ESV is a copyrighted work. Through an arrangement with Crossway, the copyright holder of the ESV, Logos can provide access to the ESV on bible.faithlife.com for free. The Faithlife Study Bible mobile applications include licenses to the FSB resources, but require the user to have a license to use other Logos resources, including the ESV.

Logos does not have a way for a church to bulk purchase licenses for its congregation at this time.

Dave, thanks for the reply. I figured my question would be lost in the prior question and so I took opportunity to ask the question afresh. I then tried to edit this post removing the question to avoid problems.

I appreciate that the ESV is a copyrighted work. Hence the puzzlement of the fact that the FaithLife.com website gives it free of charge and I can copy and paste it. That said the FaithLife App unless I'm mistaken cannot copy and paste and yet users must pay $10.

The problem I have is not that one should pay for the ESV bible but rather the inconsistency between key systems of the same overall project name. This causes the problem of members of teh congregation legitimately asking why Faithlife App is the only location where you have to pay for the ESV but the ESV's own app is free download and the Faithlife.com also provides it free.

We are keen to use Faithlife but I have to explain the reasons to the congregation in an easy to understand way. We may need to ditch our plans for using Faithlife but it seems such a shame as we can see so much benefit in its usage.

Personally it makes no difference to me as I have the platinum edition of Logos.

Of course we can stick to using physical £2 ESV Bibles instead and just not use the digital systems. It just seems such a shame to be robbed also of not using so many of the proclaim facilities too.

The problem is we're sold on the whole solution but scuppered on such a frustrating point.

All I can do is report to the congregation what is needed and hope that I am proved wrong with the take up of the facilities.
