Thank you for this new release! [:D] The new layout and menu is a welcome addition. I was hesitant to update on my older phone, but now that I did and see how well it works, I am glad I did.

Great update. Can anyone explain what the "Multicontent reading view" is?

This is referring to the fact that you can now have note documents, reading plan documents, passage guides, text comparison panels, and word study panels in the split screen reading view.

4.0.8 stable release
Love this interface!
So much easier to discover functionality.

The changes are great but I am having a lot of crashes. I'm on 4.0.8.1 (build 162).
If you discover any issues please create a new post and include the following info:
- Description – How were you using the app when the problem occurred.
Upon opening a book to read and sometimes from the home page. Usually if I can get reading for a while it is fine, but it frequently crashes just after starting. - App Info – Which app you are using. (Bible, Biblia, Faithlife Study Bible, Verbum or Vyrso) Bible
- Device Info – (Nexus 7, Motorola Triumph, Droid Bionic, Kindle Fire (1st gen)) HTC Explorer
- Android Version – (2.3, 3.x, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4) Android 2.3.5
EDIT: Today, since having acquired and downloaded additional books, crashes are constant. I've crashed over a dozen times since making this post. Rebooting the phone did not help.
EDIT2: I rolled back to 4.0.8, which is far more stable. Ironically, I only installed 4.0.8.1 because Android pushed through the update & your description said it "fixed possible crashes."

After working fine for an hour, 4.0.8 is now also crashing frequently for me. I'm just trying to read books, but turning the page or trying to navigate is causing it to crash.
Hopefully a fix will be forthcoming soon...

Wow...the update is really special and wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work on this Logos. I got thrown out a couple of times but I like the promise of this new interface and slide from the left front page.

Could you put your device in airplane mode and disable Wi-Fi and before starting the app?

Verbum App — http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Verbum/stable/index.html
Vyrso App — http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Vyrso/stable/index.htmlI just started playing with the old version of the Bible app a couple of weeks ago using a 1st gen Kindle Fire 7" and a borrowed Kindle Fire HD 8.9", which don't have access to the Google Play store. So I was surprised (pleasantly) a couple of days ago when in the middle of a Bible app session, I was booted out of my session and the new version of the app automagically installed.
I'm not complaining--I like the new interface much better than the old one, but based on the note above about needing to manually download the latest APK file if using devices like the Kindles that don't have access to the Google Play store, I'm confused as to why/how the update took place on the Kindles. It happened on both devices.

Logos Android team,
Thank you for this latest release! Wonderful new interface! Some very handy new features!
There are still a couple of items on my wish-list that I really, really, really hope make it into the next release that I was going to request, but decided to hold off (for at least a few days) and just bask in the wonderful improvements you made in this release. [:D][Y][Y][:D]
Thanks so much! Your efforts are really appreciated!!!

This may be a dumb question, but I was not able to find a solution, checking the settings page etc.
How do I set the Bible app to jump straight into reading pane, past the home page?

How do I set the Bible app to jump straight into reading pane, past the home page?
I find that if I leave the app when in the reading pane it opens up in the reading pane.
Are you seeing something different?
0 -
If I leave by home button, yes I jump straight into the Read pane.
But if I end the app or reboot the device, the app opens with the Home page.
I'd like to skip past that page, just like I skip past that page on my desktop apps.

Anytime you open a new instance of the app it will default to the Home screen. There is no setting to change that.

Is there some reason why highlighting and adding notes is instantaneous in many resources, but takes 15+ seconds in others? In the majority of my resources, I have no problems, but I'm reading one right now that is a pain! This one is MSJV3, and every note/highlight that is added takes way too long - I just timed one at 32 seconds. This resource is extreme, but I remember reading others that were around the 5 second mark.
- App Info – Bible 4.0.8.1
- Device Info – Kindle Fire HD 2nd Gen
- Android Version – 4.3

I'd like to skip past that page, just like I skip past that page on my desktop apps.
I put in a request to retain history after you restart the app e.g. Read remembers I was on Passage Guide but can't go back to the resource. whether that will circumvent always starting on the home Page remains to be seen.

Thank you, Dave.
Just like to mention here that many Android users associate paid apps with an "ad-free" experience. Arguably, owners of base packages and resources are in the category of paid users. The option to skip past the home page would be nice.

See my thread about this http://community.logos.com/forums/t/78330.aspx. It seems that iPad has the choice, but not Android.
