Mark, the discount I got must have been very unique! One day earlier, online, the price was $47.57:
... compare it to:
... $23.79. I bought no resources meanwhile (in the c:a 24 hours). I didn't have many of the resources in the Devotionals Bundle Small, nor did the upgrade to Verbum+ add any of the ones included in the Devotionals Topical Bundle Small.
Note: the regular price of the old Devotionals Bundle Small showed as over $100 on December 2.!
Notice that the base-package price also went down by ¢64 and both times calculated with the exact same coupon-code. And no coupon code for the Topical Bundle:Mark Barnes said:a discount you can't get elsewhere.

Unix, I can't be 100% sure why you got a 50% discount on one order and not the other, but it's possible that the new Verbum base packages hadn't been programmed to give the 50% discount at that stage, because they had only just been released.
The base package price difference probably reflects the difference between the international and US versions.

Unix meant that the discount he eventually got was ~75%:

He's wrong. The original price for the small Devotionals Bundle was $59.90. He got a small discount on that, almost certainly because he already owned one of the volumes (very likely Thomas a Kempis' The Imitation of Christ). He later got an additional 50% discount, because he was purchasing a base package at the same time.

I am fairly sure I heard Zondervan bought the rights to WBC just this summer.

I agree. You made a very wise purchase.

HarperCollins bought Thomas Nelson back in July 2012. They already owned Zondervan. However, they have said that Thomas Nelson will continue to operate independently.
Since then, the Word Biblical Commentary has appeared in the Zondervan Academic Catalog, with the words, "now available from Zondervan Academic". However, it doesn't appear on the Zondervan website, but remains on the Thomas Nelson website. So, at the moment at least, at appears as though Zondervan are simply marketing the commentary, rather than taking it over. Longer term, of course, that might change.

2012? How time flies!
This is good news. Maybe some people can still get WBC at a greatly discounted price. Thank you, Mark, for the clarification.

$549 for WBC on day 1 of 12 days of Christmas is pretty high as well, considering I have seen it as low as $399.
And an uproar was caused earlier in the forums when it was pointed out Zondervan had mailed out a sale of the 60 volumes WBC being on sale at another company for $299, at that point many of us speculated Logos might offer that price in their 12 days of Christmas sale... I own WBC in Logos so not interested in it elsewhere but if I didn;t own it here I would jump at the chance to have it there.

if you plan on building a large library you should build a relationship with a Logos sales rep. After you spend an undetermined amount of money you begin getting discounts as and VIP pricing. Perhaps it isn't a larger discount than others get but through a rep but when you become a reliable customer your sales rep will be able to do special favors for you like putting some new pre-prepublications on a payment plan. I called a sales rep at random to put a prepub on payment plan and he couldn't do it because my normal rep got special approval for me. They have some customers they are allowed to do it for but I rarely ask for it because I know it isn't normally approved.

I do not understand how the 50% applies. Just to take an example
Item Qty Price Portfolio Upgrade1 $2,808.07 Master Bundle, ver. 2, XL (1,588 vols.) (International)1 $7,282.71 Subtotal $10,090.78 the master bundle has the same price as if I did not take the Portfolio?!
Can somebody help me understand?

The "Huge" Logos sale going on with WBC for $549 is a slap in the face. Many of the old timers in this forum purchased their books back when Logos had real sales. How can Logos attract new customers with the most expensive Bible books on the market? I waited three years for Logos to have a real sale on WBC. I gave up last week and purchased it at Olive Branch, where they have real sales. My version of WBC is exactly the same one that Logos sells, but without buyers remorse. After overpaying by hundreds for NICOT/NICNT at Logos, I learned my lesson.

You get a 50% discount if you buy a Bundle at the same time as a base package. However, in December that 50% discount is available to everyone.

I am saving 'huge' this year. I am spending less than ever... in fact, I have not bought one thing off of the Christmas sales yet. Hard to beat 100% savings! [;)]
On a serious note, we are a third of the way through the 12 days of Christmas and I can't say that anything has really jumped out at me.

My portfolio discount was another 50% off
Our intention was not to stack the Christmas discount on top of the standard discount Portfolio owners get. That message did not make it to all of our sales staff, so a few users (including yourself) benefited big. It was a mistake, and we are not stacking these discounts going forward.

So that means the actual price is 50% off already, right?

That's also means that the price will be DOUBLE when the sale will be over !!!!!!!

I am not convinced the backend of this sale is working properly. I picked up the greek bundle, and instead of 308$ off the master bundle, I now see a discount off the master bundle of almost 600$.
Perhaps the master bundle has certain sub-bundles that are "weighted" differently... but mostly it makes me suspect a typo in the dynamic pricing values assigned to the sub-bundles wrapped up into the master bundle.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

Do you mean a discount of $600 MORE than the discount before you bought the Greek bundle, or a total discount of $600?

from ~8400+$ (pre greek bundle purchase) to 7800+$ post bundle purchase.
The greek bundle cost 308$, and academic pricing may play a role.
So yes a 300$ purchase gained me an additional 600$ off the master bundle.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

My 500 Mega Pack ($398) brought my new Master Bundles down to
Small $817 ---------> $772
Medium $1626 ---->1508
Large $2864 -------> $2620
X-Large $7262 ----> $6528
not too shaby.. too bad I couldn't afford any of them.
(thinking in head) .. does that mean most of the resources from 500 Mega Pack came mostly from the X-Large bundle?? Because it seems the X-Large took most of it.. or is this one of those chain-effect illusion that the sales department created to make the X-L more appealing?
