You guys are quick, thanks for the answers! I am now incredibly anxious for these packages to be unveiled.

I would love to see the SDA base package have: SDA Minister's Manual, SDA Church Manual, EGW Encyclopedia, Bible Commentaries, Light Bearers, as well as other Pioneer Writings- like Lessons on Faith. I affirm what Logos is doing in working with our church! I think there is so much potential to get this in all of our conferences and SDA colleges. I'm at the seminary now and I know a lot of my fellow classmates are excited about the upcoming base packages!

Wonder if I should hold off on purchasing sda resources  with the sda package coming out?

Dynamic pricing reduces cost but it never drops the full amount, which is understandable of course since they are already lowering cost.

But when one has purchase most of the sda products, one might actually be paying more in the long run

Catch 22 [from a book of that name] if SDA Resources do not sell will there be a SDA package coming out?

In other words: If a large number of SDA Resources do not sell at CP, Pre Pub, or full price will Logos allow a SDA Package to be offered?  Will there be resources available for it?  Or will Logos offer SDA [Or Orthodox, etc] packages if they do not see the advance sales of resources?

In other words if we stop buying now will Logos offer 'things' for us latter?

Most of the SDA CP offerings aren't doing so great.  I don't think there's much demand for old magazine articles or church manuals.  If it's incorporated into the base package I think there will be more excitement over them (knowing that it's there), instead of bidding individually for them (trying to get things one may never read).      Important to remember that most of SDA CP offerings have not been requested.  And regarding AR and Liberty, I believe we had more in mind current issues.

PrePub - i think just about all SDA resources had made it through (with the exception of Gulley's - EDIT - just noticed it's underdevelopment).  So it's clear that Adventist Logos users will buy SDA resources.

I don't think the SDA Bible Commentary will be in any of our base packages, at least initially. The resource was tagged a decade ago by the publisher with open source code from Logos in the now long-outmoded Libronix format. It needs to be completely retagged, which is a huge expense and also involves serious contractual challenges too complex to iterate here. I'm in discussions about it (as of last week), but even the best scenario isn't anytime soon. I'll keep you updated when there is anything to report.

You are correct, David, that a lot of the SDA resources on CP are struggling for funding. I will say that all of them have been requested, or I would not have had them posted. There are other resources (books frequently mentioned on this forum) that I much prefer over such items as Life & Health and the SDA Church Manual, but we do not yet have licensing for them and thus cannot post them. It's a complex situation requiring constant nurturing, which is certainly going on behind the scenes. Prospects are good but things take their time. I appreciate your encouragement and prayers.

Thank you, Edwin. It's my privilege to be your servant at Logos. I appreciate your prayers for my ministry here as your SDA representative, and I pray that God will bless all of you in your own vital ministry for Him. Someday soon we will all be together in heaven. I wonder what technology there will be for us to review the history of the Great Controversy and see how God has intervened for human salvation--and in each of our lives individually as royal servants commissioned Jesus in heaven's sanctuary--the human resource center of the universe.

    Hi!

Any news on that? Is anything coming out the end of this year?

Plans now call for the SDA base packages to be released early next year, due to delays in getting SDA materials licensed. We finally have enough material under contract, but now it will take some time in getting these resources processed into the Logos system. I'll keep you posted about progress.
