Reference "not available" when offline?

If I'm reading on my phone when not connected to an internet connection, if I tap a hyperlink in a reference to go to a book I have downloaded, it says "not available." Does the app have to check with Logos's servers before it looks locally?

For straight Bible references it doesn't do that but if it has an "f." or "ff." (e.g., Mark 10:42ff.), it also says "not available" until I activate a connection.

Is this normal behavior? I like to turn off my mobile internet when just reading because it drains the battery like anything; it also kind of defeats the purpose of downloading some resources like the church fathers, which I just added.

I can reproduce this starting from the PNTC volume on Matthew.

The entry on Matthew 4:12 has a link to the Works of Josephus. When I click on the link I get a "not available" message.

Both resources are downloaded and it works fine when online.

I just updated to 4.0.9. It happens with all of them, as far as I can tell. Right now, for example, I'm reading N.T. Wright, The resurrection of the Son of God. P. 337, note 2474. Rom. 1.3f. won't show when offline.

Same problem here today in a devotional with a Bible reference ending with "f".

Just turn off the wireless connection and the reference cannot be found even though NRSV is "local:"

Can anyone at Logos reproduce this ?

Generally speaking, yes - unless it's a Bible reference. The ability to search what might amount to thousands of resources (whether downloaded or not) relies on Logos Servers and the ability to search all offline resources is currently not supported on mobile devices.

This will be fixed in the next beta. I.e. offline bible references with a suffix will resolve to the reference (minus the suffix).

(Not full indexed searching capability per the full version of Logos5). Some of our mobile devices are getting quite powerful, although others are not, making a user choice perhaps a better option? [Recognize that searching only a single designated resource (Bible version marked as "favorite") is much more simple].

Many of us do not always have the high quality wireless connections to Logos Servers that are vailable in prime locations, and may be willing to take the performance hit this would likely entail to work entirely offline when the need arises.

I found this happening when offline as well.

I have both the Newberry Interlinear and Strong's downloaded. But when I clicked on a Strong's number in the interlinear I got "not available".

Offline searching of downloaded resources has been available for quite a while now. Can you be more specific about the problem you are seeing?
