Spiritual training, disciplines

I am interested in leading a group of people to deepen, expand, develop their spiritual disciplines, practices. I am looking for a good resources to lead them in such. Would anyone in the community have any suggestions? I was looking at the "The Spirit of the Disciplines" by Willard but found some reservations in it and thought I might go through my Logos resources but have found many and seek some guidance to narrow things a bit.

Curious as to your reservations. Knowing those might help in recommendations.

FWIW - Willard is more philosophical. His friend Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline is considered "a classic." Since Logos doesn't carry it, I suggest you look at the ebook on Amazon today (hint, hint).

I am a big fan of their disciple, James Bryan Smith. His "Apprentice Series" is very good, and is more relatable to the "every (wo)man." Those were available in Vyrso, but have since moved to Logos pre-pub.

I too would be curious as to why you didn't like Willard as I've always appreciated him.

Logos doesn't offer my top book yet (Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster) but here are the ones I appreciate the most that are in my Logos library:

I have "Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice: Experiments in Spiritual Transformation" co-authored by Dallas Willard and Jan Johnson.

"Invitation to the Jesus Life: Experiments in Christlikeness," "Learning to Hear God," "Living in the Companionship of God," "Savoring God's Word: Cultivating the Soul-Transforming Practice of Scripture Meditation," and "Trusting God For Everything: Psalm 23" all authored by Dr. Jan Johnson and they are all available in Logos. Dr. Jan studied under Dallas Willard and others.
