Dual installation, now neither one works

I installed (Full install on my hard-drive) my Luther's Works using Libronix Library on my new Windows 8 computer, with some trepidation, but it worked well! As a gift with the computer, I also received InterVarsity Press disk with The Essential Reference Collection on it. It installed, then refused to run because of issues with the other Libronix program installation. I used Control Panel to try to remove the program, but was told I could not, and asked if I wanted to delete it. So I did.

I then went to the Windows Explorer screen and deleted the Libronix LIbrary line from my Programs Files x86 file.

Now neither one will work, I cannot re-install because there is already a version on the computer, and I must delete it, but I can't find anything else to delete.

HELP!

Hi Rob! Welcome to the forums.

No one's ignoring your question. Libronix is the older version of Logos from 2009. I use it a lot still but also use the more recent Logos5.

Libronix and Windows8 are often not good friends. Most haven't had a good experience though a few have succeeded. Your situation now with the registry knowing about Libronix but the files gone is likely going to be hard to resolve (though someone might!).

Have you considered 'modernizing' to Logos5? It works on Windows8 fine. The engine (software) is free. And if you've sync'd your licenses from the 2 CDs you have before, with the Logos servers (part of Libronix), then Logos5 would automatically download them for you (using the same account you used for Libronix).

Thanks for the reply! I did a system restore and got my registry cleared out, then reinstalled just the Libronix and Luther's Works Library, which is all I really wanted. I have the commentaries and such in another format. (print!) The older version seems to be working fine on 8. I am still rather fond of the old Version 6, which I have on a Windows 95 equipped laptop! It served me well for a long time!
