Preferred Bible: Mobile vs. Desktop
With a new year staring us in the face, I'm planning my reading plan for next year. I've used Carson's "For the Love of God" the last 2 years, and I'm going to use his second version of that in 2014. I don't use a Logos reading plan. I simply go to the current date in Carson's book and use the hyperlinks for the daily readings. I always do my readings from the Bible app on my iPad.
So here's my question: Can the preferred Bible on my iPad be different than the one on my Logos desktop installation? I want to keep ESV as my desktop preferred Bible, but I want to read the NET Bible this year for my daily readings. If I change the Bible app on my iPad to the NET Bible, will that sync to my desktop app and change my preferred Bible there?
Thanks,
Donnie

That is your best option.

Yes.
If anyone from Logos is reading, this seems overly restrictive and inflexible to me.

The plan in For the Love of God is the M'Cheyne reading plan. Do you know if one of those is predefined? It's complex enough that I'm not going to try to create it (assuming a Logos reading plan is capable of representing that plan).
Thanks for the reply,

The M'Cheyne reading plan is predefined. I find it easier to create plans within the desktop app, so I haven't tried creating one on mobile. I have used that plan for the past two years with all readings on mobile.
As for the behavior being restrictive and inflexible... Yes, but that is what you get with a "sync everywhere" system. Mobile doesn't allow for advanced prioritization... Otherwise, that might have been a good option.

I'm not at my desktop right now. As a predefined plan, can I select the Bible version I want to use? I'll try to give it a shot tonight.
Thanks again,
Donnie

I don't see a predefined plan named "M'Cheyne" or matching it. The predefined plans I see are all " 5 days" or "14 days" or "30 days," etc. There's only one year-long plan, "365 Day Connect the Testaments" plan. How / where do I find the predefined M'Cheyne plan?

I'll stick with L5, since that is what I know better (for creating plans). In my screen shot, you can see where you select the plan, which I have already done. Click on that area, and scroll until you find the one you are looking for.

That did the trick. Not obvious at all that predefined plans would show up in the dropdown, separate from the list of predefined plans taking up most of the screen. Thanks again.
