Does the word study function not fully work in the free app?
Whenever I try to do a word study, all I get are the blue circles, no definitions or example usages like the screenshot shown in the free app. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

What Bible version are you using it with?

I've tried it with the NKJV, the ESV, and the ASV.
I guess I'm logged on. (I've only had the app a few days and really don't have a clue how to use it!) I entered my email and password at the first screen and I'm connected by wifi.
Is the word study supposed to give definitions in the free app or is that a paid only thing?
Thanks for your help.

Do you own NKJV or ESV?
You may need to purchase them to release their full functionality.
Others can correct me on this but it may be a factor

Also you will need an internet connection for word study to work.

Do you own one of Logos' base packages? These are required to unlock much of the word study functionality since they depend on reverse interlinear data. Plus, only dictionaries you own will populate the word study guide.
If you are using the mobile app without owning a base package, that would be the reason it doesn't seem to be working like in the screenshots or tutorial videos.

No, I didn't buy any other components. I say the app on google play and the description said it included word study and it had a screenshot showing it. I just assumed it came with it. I guess it's really not included in the free app as it seemed.
Thanks for your help.

From just taking a quick peek at the packages, would I need to have at least the almost $300 package? Can I just buy one book for word study?

A number of the features of the program require that you own datasets available only as part of a base package and/or specific resources from which the information is drawn. I believe that a word study requires both a Logos dataset and a reverse interlinear Bible. Unfortunately, I cannot check at the moment to be certain.

All I really want to do is look up the Greek or Hebrew meaning of a word in the Strong's. I've downloaded several other free apps that do have that capability, so I thought maybe I might be doing something wrong in Logos. I just like the look of it better than the others.
Can I just purchase a Strong's and a Bible referenced to it instead of an entire package just to look up word meanings?
Thanks!

Yes you can

I see in the library that came with the app the Strong's Concise Greek Hebrew. It appears to be more than enough for what I'm wanting. Which Bible could I buy that would pull up the Strong's references? Would you mind posting a link to one? I've searched the website, just really confused. I'm ready to start learning!
Thanks again.

If I bought this:
https://www.logos.com/product/235/the-king-james-version-bible
would that allow me to search the meaning from the words in this Bible in the Strong's Concise that came with the app?

Yes - a Strong's number will appear for word lookups in that resource, but it won't automatically open the Strong's definition. Please see screenshot:
