Does anything work in faithlife
For a long time now I have been trying to connect with others in faithlife. But nothing seems to work ever on this site. You cannot talk to tech, you cannot get help, why even have this site in the first place?

- I am not able to access Help (clicking on any of the links here:
- I am not able to un-follow a group
- I am not able to change Notifications Settings: Where is the Submit button? if all changes are saved immediately, how come they reappear when I reopen the settings window?
overall a frustrating experience.

Well currently, nothing is working. Every single link that I click, requires me to sign in, over and over. I can see my tabs, and then upon clicking on one, I have to re-sign-in. Most of what use to be there, such as searching for other groups, no longer displays, starting a new group, is about the only button that is working at the moment. I'm currently using Google Chrome as my browser. But I have to turn-off all extensions. So I can't even show a screen shot at the moment, of what my screen looks like. This has been this way for a very long time. My last readable post is over 9 months old.

I'm using a laptop with windows 7 as the base operating system. The browser is Google Chrome, with all the enhancements turned off. Basically, every time I click a link, I have to sign-in and it just loops and loops, without anything ever happening. I have the the same results in IE 9. So I'm not sure that it is a browser error, verses a script error. Hard to say. I have also tried in comodo, both in the sand box and running stand alone.

So you have signed in as far as Faithlife is concerned. Therefore, the next most likely problem is that cookies are (a) not being passed or (b) are being mutilated in transmission or (c) you have a bad cookie in cache. Although it is the least likely, I would suggest that you clear your cookies (see your browser help to find out how). Try and see if that fixed it. If it didn't, check on your browser (and sometimes security application) to make sure that cookies are enabled. If it still doesn't work, assume that it is something in your operating system or browser that Logos needs to address. You can call support (toll free, Skype ..) and refer them to this thread ... they'll then know that you've tried the most likely causes from your side and that Logos (president and employees) want to track the problem down. John may give you more precise instructions on how to link to the correct person in support).

Interesting. I was not able to reproduce the behavior you're describing on Firefox 26 until I disabled JavaScript. Would you mind navigating to about:config in a new tab on Firefox, search for javascript, and let us know what the value of "javascript.enabled" is?
If JavaScript is disabled it will look like the screenshot I've posted below

In three browsers (IE, Firefox and Chrome), all of which have Javascript enabled, when I'm in my profile and click on Groups, I get a list of group invites. Clicking on "I accept" doesn't seem to do anything. When I go to a group and click on the document tab, it says it's loading and no documents load. Also, on the main Faithlife page, clicking on the ribbon (Faithlife + You, Faithlife + Churches, Faithlife + Schools) doesn't work.

Are any of you running any browser plugins or addons? People have had issues before with ad-blocking plugins that disable JavaScript or other crucial content.

Avast Online Security is the plug-in that prevents Faithlife from working. I like this plug-in, so I guess I'll just have to remember to disable it to use Faithlife. I'd encourage you to make Faithlife less vulnerable to paralysis by plug-ins.

Aw - major bummer! I was soooo looking forward to participating with our local Study Group via Faithlife, but our PC is protected by Avast Antivirus software. Thanks for the post. I was really struggling to try to figure out why, when I would pull up the group page, I had no ability to post & other functionality was disabled or unavailable (while others in the group did not seem to have any of the same issues). If Faithlife ever works out a solution that allows it to run with Avast in the background please do post some communication indicating that's the case ... I'd really like to have the ability to participate with the rest of our group.

Welcome to the forums Melissa. Usually it is the responsibility of the antivirus to learn to work with the application rather than the reserve so I'd watch for changes in Avast ... or switch to an alternative anti-virus.

Hey GOOD NEWS for Avast users! Spent sometime going back and forth on the Avast forum and found a solution [:D] The Avast online security add-on needs to be disabled ... I'm not super skilled with IT, but below are the instructions sent to me ... I followed the directions, disabled the add-on and Faithlife appears to work with full functionality now and the Avast AV still runs in the background. Hope this helps others ...
OK if you are using IE then disable the Avast Online Security addon
I do not use Chrome or Firefox so I am not sure how that is done

Since this thread went a direction that won't address my problems, I clicked on your name Bob, hoping to contact you directly, but no--add that to my long list of problems with Faithlife. I sent an email to Faithlife a couple of days ago and haven't heard back. It looks like you are the head of everything so I would appreciate a direct contact where I could tell my problems to you. Issues with the Avast plugin in Google Chrome should have been fixed in a Faithlife update released yesterday. We will continue to investigate other issues caused by browser plugins. Please let us know of any more difficulties you encounter.
