Expository Times

I was rather astonished to see no-one has suggested the Expository Times as a suitable Logos resource. There are literally thousands of references to ExpTim in Logos (8,234 in my resources). Persuading Sage to allow publication at a reasonable cost may be tricky, though.

In an effort to establish the currency of this my request I happened upon this post from our MVP of just repute. My library of near 7K resources produced near 28K hits. Mark I applaud your peerless efforts to equalize the proficiency of Logos software for all users both with your numerous posts and your Unofficial training videos.

I add my endorsement to this dated but relevant request! May the din of supporters nudge Logos into action on our behalf. [Y]

Affordability though relative is of course essential. Let's try and keep it under a mortgage payment.

If Logos can find a way to do Loeb and CNTTS NT, then Expository Times is likewise doable. And this gives me the opportunity to correct my post of a gross inflation of figures.

ExTim hits are a little over 8K. For comparison two of my other most favored journals, Bib Sac and JETS weigh in at a hair over 6K and near 4K respectively.

If they are in PDF format and are available in files then it should be a doodle. I can select text in a PDF and pop it into a word processor without any special software.

I would bet that the original records are in text files anyway.

The more recent ones would be simpler than the older ones, as they wouldn't need scanning. Either way, there's a lot of markup to be added - journals typically have lots of links to other resources and lots of Greek and Hebrew text (and lots of Latin in the very early editions).

A basic search for ExpTim, ExpT, ExpTimes, "Expository Times" should get most of them. There's more than 14,000 in my library, although more than 10% are in Religious and Theological Abstracts. The rest predominate in BDAG, NIGTC, WBC, AB, Hermenia and others.

As I said before, if it is affordable I will bite. Regardless, unless it shows up in Logos, I'm pretty sure they will never see a penny from me. Quite sure that goes for many others as well.
