Problem with Note Font in 5.2a Beta 2

OS: Win 7-64

Logos Ver: Logos Bible Software 5.2a Beta 2 (5.2.1.0023)

I am not sure when this item crept in - whether it was with this latest beta or at some earlier point.

Problem:

When I add a note to the Bible that I am reading in Logos 5, it shows up well in the Note panel. However, when I try to view the note by hovering my cursor over the yellow note indicator in the Resource text, I see the popup window but the font is x-ed out (see below).

Changing the 'Default Notes Font' in Settings from 'Default' to anything else doesn't fix the problem.

Older notes appear fine ... just the new ones are having this problem.

The same problematic notes mentioned above will render perfectly in the Bible app (Gal Note 8.0, Android ver. 4.2.2).

New notes generated in the Bible app will also appear fine in L5.

I think I have seen others previously mention this (or something like this) in the forums but I cannot find any mention of it ... so my apologies in advance if this is old territory.

Hm. I don't see this on 32bit Windows. But: this looks like a not-supported-font problem. Are you typing a strange language, such as Syriac? It may help Logos, if you show a screenshot of the same note on a device where it works.

The note shown is just a test message in English using the 'Default' font. Multiple tries using different fonts -including common ones like Arial- produced the same result. Otherwise, I would agree with your not-supported-font theory.

I probably should have also mentioned that I am using an Intel 4000 gpu with the latest driver ... just in case that might make a difference.

UPDATE:

This morning I discovered the problem.

Although I have 'Default' selected as the Default Note Font, as soon as I select a word or a passage to add a note to, the font selection switches automatically to 'Adobe Pi Std'. This font is not installed in Windows but is a part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 (but by going to the Elements 12 font folder and right clicking on AdobePiStd.otf, it can be installed into Windows).

For reference sake, Elements 12 was installed on my desktop PC just in the last month or two.

However, merely installing the AdobePiStd font into Windows still does not cure the problem. I suspect that this is because the font is a *.otf file instead of the standard Windows *.ttf file.

I can obviously work around this problem in Logos but the question remains, "Why is L5 picking up this otf font from Adobe Elements 12 and recognizing it as the 'Default Note Font' in the first place?"

UPDATE 2:

... and now it is not doing it anymore. The Default Notes Font is no longer automatically switching to AdobePiStd and my Notes are working fine. [:^)]

Go figure.
