Accessing Notes on iPad

On an iPad, is there any way to access a specific chapter & verse reference in a Notes document? For example if I want to go to Matthew 26:1 in my Matthew notes (each note is linked to a verse), do I have to start scrolling at Matthew 1:1 until I reach Matthew 26:1? Thanks in advance.

No, you can't have a link in a note at this time but it appears that it is coming! The old notes were not marked as a link the way they are now.

Thanks, Patrick. I was thinking more of a search feature, much the same as we use to locate a certain chapter & verse in a Bible. Is this what you mean by a link?

Hi Lawrence

I can't think of a search feature you can use but there is a way to make scrolling easier.

If you click the Aa menu when in the notes document you will see options for "Full" or "Compact"

Selecting Compact results in just the titles being displayed which makes scrolling much quicker.

However, typically, switching back to "Full" takes you back up the document.

But if, while still in Compact mode, you click to the left of the note icon this will take you into the Note Editor.

While still in the Editor, go back to the Aa menu and click Full and you should end up in the right place.

It sounds a little convoluted but it does work ok!

Thanks, Graham. I appreciate your suggestions and thought this was going to work but when I tried to click Full (while in Compact mode and still in Editor) my iPad froze. Tried several times but each time Logos froze. Would this be because I have an older iPad (iPad 2 running iOS 7)?

Would be surprised if it was an iPad 2 issue - though I don't remember testing this when I had one. (I am currently using an iPad Air)

I suggest that after the app freezes you go to "Send Support Info" (available under Help) - change the default email address to yours (so you receive the file) and then upload here. Hopefully someone from Logos would then be able to look at it

I'm not sure what you mean by "change the default email address to yours and then upload here". The default email address at 'Send Support Info' appears to be support@logos.com. If I change this to my email address and send it (to myself), what do I do then? Not sure what "upload here" means.

Although I have never heard back from Logos support, I have found an easy work around for accessing specific verse Notes on an iPad (for example, going right to your notes on Matthew 20:1 instead of scrolling from Matthew 1:1).

In spit screen go to Matthew 20:1 in your Bible version. Bring up your notes on Matthew on the other screen (it will show your first notes on Matthew i.e. 1:1). If you have a colored square beside a verse in Matthew 20, touch it to bring up the pop up note. Touch "edit note". Your Notes screen will now move to that note in Matthew 20.
