My installation in Windows is 18.3GB with 3,110 resources. It made it unfeasible to buy a laptop with a 128GB SSD that only had 70GB available to the user out of the box. I had to spring for the 256GB SSD.

mine is 22.1 gb with 3800 titles. I think its normal and I am not using beta. I know that journals, archeology titles, and other titles that have pictures take lots of space. For high quality images we have to sacrifice with space and I dont mind doing it.

With ~same # resources I have 17.2 Gb. Of course, it all depends on what resources you have, not simply the number.

I just had to do a reinstall a week or two ago, and it said it was about 16.2 GB. I have 7100+ resources. That seems to be a lot of book for the byte. [:)]

Okay, I just did some sniffing and it says that I have 29.1 GB on my hd. For some reason my AppData folder doesn't appear in my User/DP folder...I had to do a "search this folder" to open it up. That shows the User>DP>AppData>Local>Logos5 path, but as soon as I back out to User>DP I can't see the AppData folder, even though I was just in it. Anyone know why that is?

It's a hidden folder. Change your setting to show all folders.

That's pretty normal. If you just want to check how much space the resources are using, you need to look at the %localappdata%\Logos5\Data\{random}\ResourceManager\Resources folder. You'll probably find your resources are taking about two thirds of your space. The other (roughly third) of the space is taken by various indexes.

Actually most of the resources files are very small (in my case most are less than 1Mb). But you'll also see that (inevitably), media resources take up a lot of space. My ten biggest files take up well over 3gb on their own.

I think there is some confusion regarding which figure is being posted. When I posted my occupancy total, I was only referring to the resources themselves. I think some are posting totals for the program, indices, etc.

I am really having this problem; Logos5 (Desktop Version) alone takes up 49GB on my Win8 computer with a 128GB SSD. I'm really doing a kabookie dance to not run out of space.

I have 7320 resources, and recently purchased a Samsung Ultrabook, with an i7 and 128 GB. I have installed lots of programs, and I still have 29 GB left. I wish I could tell you how much space Logos is taking up on both my computers, but I cannot find the program. I know, I know, someone is going to tell me the easy way to find it, but I will forget before before I get there. I have been using PCs for almost 30 years, and I love Logos, but I hate how they have hidden the program.

There are really two components... There is the software engine (which should be no harder to find than any other program on your computer), and the data files. The latter are tucked away, and are generally much larger in size for users with a base package. On Mac, they are in the user account library. I assume there is a similar location on windows.

Cool! Went looking for mine and it's about 15 gigs....

And I remember 1984 when I got my first computer, a Sinclair 1000 (ZX-81 to me... I was in Europe at the time), black and white, no sound, with *1k* of ram (boosted to 16k with the extra Ram pack... and a tape recorder to save my programs! [:D]

And now the BOOKS ALONE on my laptop are about *15 million* of those ks (if I got my calculations correct?)
